A bright, green, clean, beautiful, and safe residential area in Phuc Thuong village, Nam Giang commune (Tho Xuan district).

Upon arriving at Phuc Thuong village, Nam Giang commune, we were impressed by the well-maintained and clean village roads and alleys; rows of lush green trees lined both sides of the roads. While sweeping the village roads with the women, Ms. Le Thi Thanh, Party branch secretary and head of Phuc Thuong village, shared: "The village was recognized as a model new rural village at the end of 2024. This result is thanks to the combined strength of the entire political system, including the important contributions of the village's Front Committee and mass organizations in disseminating information and mobilizing people to effectively implement local tasks."

To substantiate her words, Ms. Le Thi Thanh pointed to the area around Phuc Thuong lake and shared: "To gain the people's consensus on opening the road to the lakeside area, the village Party branch, along with the Front Committee and other organizations, went 'door to door,' persuading affected households to donate 500 square meters of land without demanding any compensation. Since the implementation of the model new rural village project, many households in the village have voluntarily contributed over 2 billion VND, donated land, and dismantled auxiliary structures and fences to expand traffic routes and build welfare facilities. As a result, the appearance of the new rural village has changed significantly, with 100% of the village roads being concreted and equipped with lighting systems, of which nearly 60% meet the criteria for modern urban lighting..."

With the motto "using the people's strength to care for the people," the Fatherland Front of Nam Giang commune has actively coordinated with its member organizations to propagate and mobilize the people to build new rural areas through various forms, such as: through residential area meetings, group activities, etc., aiming to unleash the people's strength to successfully build an advanced new rural commune in 2023. Continuing the achievements, from 2024 to the present, with the support of the government and the joint efforts of the people, many projects have been invested in and built in the commune, such as: electricity lines, the main road to Dong Ngau farm; the road from the new Phuc Gia cultural house to Cao Phong; repairing and upgrading cultural houses and roads in the villages; constructing 2.5km of new drainage ditches and 12.5km of roads within the villages and fields...

Recognizing that building new rural areas is a continuous and central task of the locality, in recent years, based on the guidance and directives of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, the Fatherland Front at all levels in Tho Xuan district has proactively concretized and implemented the tasks of the Fatherland Front in a clear and targeted manner. As a result, many effective mass mobilization models have been widely implemented by the Fatherland Front Committee and its member organizations throughout the district, attracting a large number of cadres, union members, association members, and people from all walks of life to participate and respond, such as the models: "United, prosperous, and happy residential areas"; "Bright, green, clean, beautiful, and safe residential areas" associated with building advanced new rural communes and model new rural communes; and "Cameras in residential areas".

To date, 274 out of 274 residential areas have implemented the "Bright - Green - Clean - Beautiful - Safe Residential Area" model; most roads in Tho Xuan district have street lighting systems; and all 30 communes and towns have security camera systems installed along the main roads of villages and hamlets, contributing to ensuring security and order in residential areas. In addition, the Fatherland Front in communes and towns has coordinated with various organizations to conduct general environmental cleanups in residential areas, dikes, and irrigation canals, thereby raising people's awareness of compliance and creating a green, clean, and beautiful environment in residential areas.

Activities for the poor, such as the "Nationwide Campaign to Support the Poor, Leaving No One Behind" movement and the peak month for the poor, have been effectively implemented by the Fatherland Front at all levels in the district. In particular, to effectively implement Directive No. 22-CT/TU of the Provincial Party Committee on the campaign to support the construction of housing for poor households, policy beneficiary households, and households facing housing difficulties in the province during the two years 2024-2025, the Standing Committee of the District Fatherland Front has organized the implementation, propaganda, and mobilization of agencies, units, businesses, and the people to actively participate in supporting the construction. With financial support and contributions from relatives, to date, construction has begun on 103 out of 104 households in the district (including 60 new constructions and 43 house repairs)...

These specific actions have contributed to creating a new, modern, and civilized look for rural areas in Tho Xuan district, thereby continuously improving the material and spiritual lives of the people.
