With 10 vibrant professional fields, the artists and performers have contributed to vividly recreating the sacred milestones of the nation, the pride of a unified country, and spreading the journey of building and developing Dong Nai in the new era.

Many works of art about the April 30th holiday.

For artists and writers in Dong Nai, the theme of the April 30th celebration is expressed in diverse and rich ways across many fields such as literature, photography, fine arts, theater and film, music , and dance. It is encouraging that many works capture emotions about the value of peace, praise the homeland and the country, and contribute to reviving the heroic atmosphere of the day of complete victory.

Author Nguyen Minh Duc, from the Literature Department of the Dong Nai Association of Literature and Arts, deeply moved readers with his poem "A Mother's Question." Instead of focusing on the sounds of gunfire and bombs, the author explores the image of a mother waiting for her child after the war. April 30th is a joyous day, but behind that joy lie unforgettable moments of silence: “The last time my mother asked: Where is my child!?/ A question that has repeatedly pierced my chest.../ Some things in life are forgotten, remembered, and forgotten/ The only memento remains is the letter my child hastily wrote/ Embraced by my mother as she ascended to heaven without speaking/ A faded photograph with a white headscarf. Who is this!?”

Author Ly Thang Long evokes bright, proud emotions with his poem "The Sound of Footsteps": "When I hear the sound of footsteps / Layers upon layers of people following in each other's footsteps / Hurry, army! / Urging on the guns / Tilting and then raising them against the sky... / Amidst the hustle and bustle of desires and aspirations / The footsteps of today / Still move softly... / Only to protect the peace of the leaves on the trees / The army continues to march..."

Author Mai Hân Hạnh, Literature Committee, Dong Nai Association of Literature and Arts, with the poem "Saigon, Oh! Your Name Shines Brightly": April 30th, an immortal day / North and South united as one, fulfilling our dreams / The red flag with a yellow star flies brightly / A joyful song resounds in the streets.

In the field of ceramics, artisan Hoang Ngoc Hien, owner of Hien Nam ceramic workshop (Bien Hoa ward), said: “To commemorate the Liberation Day of the South and the reunification of the country, I created a large ceramic vase with many embossed motifs. The two handles of the vase are shaped like the letter S, symbolizing Vietnam, covered with the characteristic bronze-green glaze of Bien Hoa ceramics. At the center of the vase is an embossed portrait of President Ho Chi Minh in white glaze with a gentle, approachable smile. Through this, viewers can feel the depth of Vietnamese history and culture in general, and Dong Nai in particular.”

Following the same theme, young sculptor Tran Dinh Thang (Fine Arts Department, Dong Nai Association of Literature and Arts) created a monumental sculpture titled "Peace." Inspired by gratitude and national pride, the work was conceived from the emotions he felt while encountering historical spaces and artifacts – places that vividly recreate the arduous yet incredibly heroic lives and struggles of previous generations. Through this, the artist hopes to convey a message about the value of today's peace, a value achieved through countless sacrifices and losses.

In the fields of music, photography, and dance, many emotionally rich songs and works were presented, vividly depicting the joy of reunification and the new rhythm of life in Dong Nai province. Many musicians chose lyrical and profound melodies to honor the value of peace, while photographers captured authentic moments of the changes in the land and people of Dong Nai after 51 years of national reunification.

Besides live performances, works celebrating the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country are also actively introduced and widely disseminated on social media platforms by the Dong Nai Association of Literature and Arts and the authors. This helps historical and artistic values reach a wider audience more quickly and easily.

Spreading the cultural and historical values of Dong Nai

Beyond creative works, exhibitions, performances, and cultural and artistic exchanges are also widely organized, helping to bring works closer to the public. This, in turn, awakens national pride and a sense of responsibility in each citizen, especially the younger generation.

Nguyen Cao Thep,队长 of the Mobile Propaganda Team of the Dong Nai Cultural and Film Center, said: “Currently, the unit is organizing the art program 'The Epic of Great Victory' to perform for the people at the grassroots level. The unit uses many musical pieces rich in revolutionary traditions, vividly reflecting the breath of life and the changes in the homeland, composed and performed by Dong Nai artists, contributing to the enrichment of national cultural identity in the period of development and integration.”

According to People's Artist Giang Manh Ha, Chairman of the Dong Nai Association of Literature and Arts, in recent years, the association has regularly launched creative writing campaigns to celebrate major holidays, including the anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day on April 30th. The association always encourages artists to closely follow reality and explore the depth of local culture and history. In addition, the association also cooperates with units, localities, and schools to organize performances of musical works, plays, and dramas about the image of President Ho Chi Minh and works about history and revolutionary wars, creating a highly effective theatrical effect.

“Many art programs organized by the association have attracted a large number of officials, soldiers, students, and people in the province to participate. This also motivates the artists of Dong Nai to continue creating new works, meeting the increasingly high demand for artistic enjoyment from the public,” emphasized People's Artist Giang Manh Ha.

For artists and writers in Dong Nai, each work about the Liberation Day of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country both recreates heroic memories and serves as a bridge connecting the past with the present. Through the creative lens of artists and writers, April 30th is not only an important historical milestone but also continues to spread as a lasting source of inspiration, empowering the journey of building and developing Dong Nai city in the new era.
