The Party Committee, government, and mass organizations of Lien Son commune provided support for the construction of solidarity houses for poor households, contributing to the effective implementation of the sustainable poverty reduction program in the area.
Bringing about change through the resolution
Identifying the construction of advanced new rural areas, progressing towards model new rural areas, as a central and continuous task from the beginning of the term, the Party Committee and People's Committee of Lien Son commune have focused on decisive leadership and direction, mobilizing the participation of the entire political system and the people in the area. After the merger of the three communes of Cao Son, Cu Yen, and Lien Son, Lien Son commune faced many difficulties in terms of organizational structure, planning, and the management of national target programs.
However, with a proactive spirit, the commune quickly reorganized the Steering Committee for National Target Programs, assigned specific tasks to each member, and reviewed all the plans of the former communes to develop implementation plans suitable to the practical model of a two-tiered local government.
From community meetings and the "Green Sunday" movement to campaigns for beautifying village roads and alleys, building model gardens, and model residential areas, all have received high levels of public support. This unity of will and action has created a vibrant atmosphere of competition in many villages and hamlets. Flower-lined roads, clean and beautiful stretches of road, and well-built cultural centers all bear the mark of the solidarity between the local government and the people.
Comrade Bui Quoc Hoan, Chairman of the Lien Son Commune People's Committee, said: After the merger, the workload is large, but the commune is determined not to interrupt the new rural development program. We focus on reviewing each criterion, prioritizing tasks that are close to people's lives, and promoting the role of the people as the main actors to gradually complete the advanced new rural development criteria, aiming to build a sustainable model new rural commune.
Along with strengthening leadership, the locality also focuses on mobilizing and integrating investment resources for infrastructure construction, production development, and improving the living environment. By 2025, the total investment capital for the new rural development program in the area will reach nearly 9 billion VND; many infrastructure projects will continue to be implemented, creating momentum to promote socio -economic development in the locality.
Rural areas have seen many positive changes.
Thanks to decisive leadership and guidance, the rural landscape in Lien Son is undergoing significant changes. Clean, well-maintained concrete roads extending to villages and hamlets; spacious cultural centers; vibrant flowerbeds along the roadsides... are contributing to an increasingly flourishing new rural landscape.
The "Lighting Up Rural Roads" project in Dong Lau hamlet, Lien Son commune, contributes to changing the face of the countryside, ensuring security and order, and improving the quality of life for the people.
According to the Chairman of the People's Committee of Lien Son commune, in order to improve infrastructure serving the people, Lien Son has focused on investing in the construction and upgrading of many village roads and alleys, creating favorable conditions for people to travel, trade, and develop production. Along with transportation, the system of grassroots cultural institutions has also received investment. Cultural centers in many villages such as Lien Khue, Nuoc Lanh, Gura, Phu Ngoc, Ghen, Son Thuy... have been newly built or upgraded, meeting the needs of community activities and organizing cultural, artistic, and sports activities for the people.
Alongside infrastructure investment, Lien Son commune also focuses on developing the rural economy and increasing people's income. The locality is promoting the restructuring of the agricultural sector towards commodity production, leveraging the advantages of local crops and distinctive products. Many products such as bananas, pomelos, honey, milk thistle extract, and black sesame extract are gradually establishing their value in the market. To date, the commune has one OCOP product that has achieved 3 stars or higher.
Poverty reduction and social security efforts continue to be effectively implemented. In 2025, the commune supported the construction of 30 new houses and the repair of 8 houses for poor and disadvantaged households; at the same time, it mobilized over 4 billion VND from social contributions, labor, and construction materials to jointly eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the area. As a result, the poverty rate in the commune decreased to 0.67%, and the material and spiritual lives of the people have gradually improved. |
These efforts have yielded many positive results in the journey of building advanced new rural areas. To date, Lien Son commune has basically achieved 14 out of 19 criteria for advanced new rural communes. In 2025 alone, the locality will have two more model residential areas and two model gardens verified as meeting standards, bringing the total number in the commune to 11 model residential areas and 19 model gardens. This is an important foundation for Lien Son to continue completing the remaining criteria, aiming towards the goal of building a model new rural commune in the future.
Activities in response to the Reading Day at Lien Son Kindergarten contribute to improving the quality of education and building a friendly learning environment for local children.
From noticeable improvements in infrastructure development and people's living standards to the creation of a bright, green, clean, and beautiful rural landscape, it is evident that the Party Congress Resolution is gradually being implemented in Lien Son commune with concrete and practical results. With the determination of the Party committee and government, along with the consensus of the people, Lien Son is gradually building a solid foundation on its journey to becoming a model new rural commune.
A truly livable rural area is gradually emerging here – a place where the "Party's will" harmonizes with the "people's aspirations," creating momentum for sustainable development.
