From early afternoon on December 29th, even though the second leg of the ASEAN Cup 2024 semi-final between Vietnam and Singapore was still about six hours away, fans couldn't wait any longer. They all poured into the streets, creating a vibrant atmosphere.

The national flag flies proudly along every road in the ancestral land of Phu Tho, accompanied by resounding shouts of "Vietnam wins!" and "Vietnam is the champion!"

Vietnamese football fans always carry pictures of President Ho Chi Minh to every match of the national team, in order to further motivate and inspire the players.

The fans also waved the South Korean flag to show their appreciation for coach Kim Sang-sik. After less than a year in charge of the national team, the 48-year-old strategist has won the hearts of Vietnamese football fans.

It's been quite a while since the 31st SEA Games that Viet Tri city has been so vibrant with football. In recent days, during each ticket sale at Phu Tho Gymnasium, hundreds of fans have been willing to stay up all night queuing to buy tickets.

Due to overwhelming demand and limited ticket availability, ticket scalpers inflated prices up to seven times their original price before dropping them to three or four times the original price on the day of the match.

As one fan from Phu Tho shared, they are willing to pay a high price because events like this don't happen often. In particular, they all want to be a part of the campaign to conquer the ASEAN Cup 2024.

Mr. Dinh Anh Tuan (62 years old) is a familiar face at every match of the Vietnamese national team. For the past 12 years, despite being in a wheelchair, he has not missed a single match of the Golden Star Warriors.
