Viettel completes the High-tech Complex puzzle

This morning, August 19, the Military Industry-Telecoms Group (Viettel) started construction of the Viettel Research and Development Center (R&D) at Hoa Lac High-Tech Park.

Viettel Research and Development Center project has an investment capital of 10,000 billion VND, built on an area of ​​13 hectares in Hoa Lac High-Tech Park.

The project consists of 6 smart buildings, expected to be completed in 2030. This will be a key R&D center, closing the entire process of research - design - testing - production of high-tech products.

From mastering the technologies of manufacturing missiles, cruise engines, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), remote sensing satellites, radars, etc., Viettel also focuses on researching and applying technologies of big data, artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, etc. to develop devices, software, solutions, platforms, and services to meet market needs and be in line with world technology trends.

The project applies international standards in design and operation, integrating smart, green, sustainable elements to meet both high professional requirements and environmental friendliness. This is also a project built with a system that ensures absolute safety and security, using the most modern technology and protected through many layers.

It is expected to attract 2,500 high-quality personnel to meet the requirements of the Party, State, and Ministry of National Defense , helping to modernize the army, improve combat strength and the ability to protect the country in the new situation.

In addition, Viettel also opened An Khanh Data Center. The center is built on an area of ​​1.9 hectares, with a total investment of 17,500 billion VND, a designed capacity of 60MW, expected to become the largest data center in the North.

Phase 1 is expected to operate from the second quarter of 2026 and by 2030 will be upgraded to Viettel's second Hyperscale Data Center.

Both projects, with a total investment of 1.28 trillion VND, were started on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, September 2.

The two key projects have fundamental significance, affirming Viettel's pioneering role in implementing Resolution 57 of the Politburo on developing a system of research and testing centers, key national laboratories, focusing on strategic technologies.
