As a completely new generation version, the VinFast VF 8 boasts numerous mechanical upgrades. Most notably, it features a new chassis platform and a suspension system with adaptive damping (FSD).

According to experts, the new platform significantly reduces the vehicle's weight, down to approximately 1,870 kg compared to 2,328 kg of the previous standard version. This electric SUV also utilizes the SDV software-controlled architecture, along with a CVC central computer and an ITM thermal management system developed by VinFast.
These upgrades contribute to optimizing the performance of both the vehicle and the battery. As a result, the new VF 8 achieves a range of 500 km per charge (NEDC standard) despite having a smaller standard battery capacity of 60.13 kWh. The vehicle supports fast charging, going from 10% to 70% battery in less than 30 minutes.

Compared to its predecessor, which had multiple configuration options, the new VF 8 has been streamlined to a single version. It uses an electric motor with approximately 228 horsepower and 330 Nm of maximum torque, driving the front wheels. These specifications fall somewhere between those of the previous VF 8 Eco and Plus (AWD) versions.
In terms of dimensions, the new VF 8 measures 4,701 x 1,872 x 1,670mm (length x width x height), with a wheelbase of 2,840mm. Compared to the previous generation, the car is 49mm shorter, 62mm narrower, and 3mm taller. The wheelbase is 110mm shorter.

The new VF 8 continues to maintain a 5-seat configuration, so the interior cabin space remains quite spacious. The interior has been redesigned with a more practical focus, featuring steering wheel-mounted gear shifters for easier operation.

Behind the steering wheel, there's now an additional driver information display screen, instead of relying solely on the central screen and HUD as before. Notable features include: 6-way power adjustable driver's seat with memory function, 4-way adjustable passenger seat, 2-level reclining rear seats, air conditioning with fine dust filter, wireless charging, an 8-speaker sound system, and a standard 600-liter trunk.

Advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) integrate many features such as: highway driving assistance, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assistance, and a 360-degree camera.
In terms of design, the new VF 8 has a softer and more streamlined appearance, unlike the sporty , aggressive European-style look of its predecessor. The highlight of the front end remains the V-shaped LED daytime running lights extending to both sides.

The front grille features a full-edge design, seamlessly connecting to the LED projector headlights. The taillights are also enclosed within a black trim, creating a cohesive look with the front.

Viewed from the side, the new VF 8 gives the impression of a hybrid between an SUV and an MPV. The vehicle uses 19-inch wheels and has a ground clearance of 170 mm.
The final highlight of the new version is the price. Specifically, the new VinFast VF 8 only comes in one version with a published price of 999 million VND, lower than the starting price of 1.019 billion VND of the previous version.

Accordingly, the price of the new VF 8 is among the most accessible in the D-segment SUV category. In this group, most gasoline-powered models are priced from 1 billion VND upwards, such as the Hyundai Santa Fe (from 1.069 billion VND), Ford Everest (from 1.129 billion VND), Kia Sorento (from 1.149 billion VND), or Toyota Fortuner (from 1.055 billion VND).
According to VinFast, customers who place a deposit for the new VinFast VF 8 during the initial phase (May 27th - June 3rd) will receive a direct discount of 51 million VND on the selling price, along with other existing program incentives such as a 10% discount on the vehicle price and free charging until the end of February 2029.
After deducting all discounts, the actual price of the new VF 8 could be brought down to below 850 million VND. The first batch of vehicles is expected to be delivered at the end of July.
