As a pioneer, Vingroup announced a decisive and specific action plan for its areas of operation, especially in urban transportation.

The launching ceremony was attended by leaders of the Hanoi People's Committee, representatives of ministries, departments, agencies, political and social organizations, and the business community operating in the capital city.

This is an urgent action given that Hanoi's air quality is consistently among the worst in the world, with high levels of fine particulate matter affecting public health. According to a report by the Hanoi Department of Natural Resources and Environment, traffic is identified as the largest source of emissions, accounting for up to 70% of urban air pollution.

As a business operating in the capital city and managing a complete electric vehicle ecosystem, Vingroup Corporation has decided to launch the "For a Green Capital" campaign to call on the entire community to take action to reclaim a blue sky for the capital, especially by reducing emissions in the transportation sector.

Accordingly, starting from January 10th, Vingroup and companies within its green mobility ecosystem, including VinFast, VinBus, GSM, and FGF, will simultaneously launch various meaningful support activities and policies for customers who purchase, lease, and use electric vehicles daily.

Specifically, VinFast is offering support of up to 70 million VND to all customers who purchase electric vehicles and register them in Hanoi from January 10, 2025 to January 31, 2026. The specific support amount will vary depending on the vehicle model and the purchase method (battery included or battery leased), ranging from 3.6 million VND (for VF 3 vehicles with battery lease) to 70 million VND (for VF 9 vehicles with battery purchase).

For customers purchasing electric motorcycles and electric bicycles, the subsidy will range from 500,000 VND (for Evo200 motorcycles with battery rental) to 3,000,000 VND (for Theon S motorcycles with battery purchase).

The subsidy from VinFast for these vehicles will be converted into VinClub points, which customers can use for services at all Vingroup member units, and will be paid out after customers complete the license plate registration procedures.

For customers who choose to use public transport in Hanoi, VinBus will subsidize 50% of the fare for all customers purchasing single-route monthly passes on VinBus routes from February 1, 2025 to January 31, 2026.

GSM will also launch membership packages specifically for the Hanoi area, with promotional codes valid for 365 days for both Green SM Taxi and Green SM Bike services with pick-up and drop-off points in Hanoi.

Meanwhile, FGF will offer direct discounts on car rentals and reward points to customers who rent cars for short periods and pick them up in Hanoi from January 15, 2025, until further notice. Customers purchasing used cars through FGF will also receive similar support as VinFast's policy for each car model.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Manh Quyen, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, said: "I am impressed with Vingroup's concrete solution in strongly focusing its efforts on implementing policies to support and promote the use of electric vehicles to replace traditional gasoline-powered vehicles. This transition will not only significantly reduce emissions into the environment but also contribute to bringing Hanoi closer to its goal of becoming a green and sustainably developed city."

Vingroup launches the "For a Green Capital" campaign, calling on the community to raise environmental awareness and work together to reduce air pollution in the capital city.

With that purpose and meaning in mind, I call upon the entire community of Hanoi, from every citizen and business to organizations and associations, to be aware of and take action to protect our living environment. Practical actions can begin with switching to electric vehicles or electrified public transportation, not using coal stoves, not burning garbage outdoors, increasing tree planting, and protecting green spaces in our living areas.”

Speaking at the launch ceremony of the "For a Green Capital" program, Mr. Nguyen Viet Quang, Vice Chairman and General Director of Vingroup, said: "The effort to restore the cleanliness of the capital's sky is not the responsibility of any one person, but a call from the heart, requiring the joint efforts of the entire community, from management agencies to businesses, social organizations, and every individual living, studying, and working in Hanoi. I believe that, with the determination and solidarity of the entire community, the "For a Green Capital" campaign will succeed, bringing cleaner air and a safer living environment for the people of Hanoi."

The "For a Green Capital" campaign is the next activity in the "Intense Vietnamese Spirit - For a Green Future" program being initiated nationwide by Vingroup Corporation, offering many outstanding incentives for users of green transportation.

After six months since its launch, the program "The Fierce Spirit of Vietnam - For a Green Future" has received strong support from many localities, organizations, businesses, and especially the support of people nationwide, creating a positive ripple effect in the community.
