According to Vo Thanh Xuan, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Vinh Binh commune, ensuring social security and improving the quality of life for the people is one of the key and continuous tasks that the commune's Party Committee and government pay close attention to. "Social security is a key task that Vinh Binh commune focuses on in every stage of development. When people face difficulties, the Party Committee, government, and political system must pay attention and promptly propose effective support policies and solutions," Mr. Vo Thanh Xuan stated.
Upholding the spirit of mutual support and compassion, the Party Committee of Vinh Binh commune has implemented effective and practical methods to care for the poor. A prime example is the construction of houses for those in difficult housing situations and the construction of bridges and rural roads. From July 2025 to the present, Vinh Binh commune has mobilized resources to build 30 solidarity houses and construct 4 new bridges, with a total cost of over 3.5 billion VND.
Implementing the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, the commune supported the construction and repair of 132 houses, with a total cost of over 8 billion VND. In addition, 32 houses were built and repaired for people with meritorious service and relatives of martyrs, with a total cost of over 1.6 billion VND. These results contribute to an average per capita income of 68.3 million VND in 2025, achieving 101% of the resolution's target. Currently, the multidimensional poverty rate in Vinh Binh commune is 2.36%, a decrease of 1.1% compared to the same period in 2024, reaching 122% of the plan.
Following President Ho Chi Minh's teaching, "Whatever benefits the people must be done with all our might," the Binh Minh Hamlet Party Branch actively focuses on improving the lives of its people through practical actions. From 2020 to the present, the Party Branch, in coordination with relevant departments and units, has built 45 new houses for poor, near-poor, and particularly disadvantaged households, with a total cost of over 2.2 billion VND. According to Mr. Nguyen Minh Khen, Secretary of the Binh Minh Hamlet Party Branch, social welfare work in the area has received the consensus and active support of the people, businesses, and philanthropists. "Policies to assist the poor in healthcare, education , housing, preferential credit loans, vocational training, etc., have been integrated and implemented effectively, contributing to improving living conditions and increasing access to basic social services for the poor. This has improved their livelihoods and enhanced their quality of life," Mr. Nguyen Minh Khen stated.
Mr. Nguyen Van Binh, residing in Cai Nua hamlet, is one of many households that have received housing support from the commune in recent times. In his new, clean and beautiful house, Mr. Binh said: “Previously, my family lived in a dilapidated, leaky house; we didn't dare sleep in it when it rained. This year, my family received support to build a new house. This is an invaluable gift, helping my family to have stable housing and improve our lives.”
According to Mr. Vo Thanh Xuan, in the coming time, the Party Committee of Vinh Binh commune will continue to promote emulation movements for the poor, effectively implement poverty reduction policies; regularly review and understand the causes of poverty in each household, and from there develop appropriate and effective poverty reduction support solutions. For poor households that are still capable of working, the commune will mobilize resources to support livelihoods, vocational training, and job placement. "We will continue to call on organizations, individuals, businesses, and philanthropists to mobilize all resources to comprehensively, promptly, and effectively implement sustainable poverty reduction programs, projects, and policies," Mr. Xuan said.
