Having lived in a dilapidated house for many years, Mr. Danh Quoc's family, residing in Vinh Phong commune, received support from benefactors mobilized by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vinh Phong commune to repair their house. Mr. Danh Quoc expressed: "From now on, my family will no longer worry about leaks during the rain. This help not only provides a warm home but also gives my family more motivation to overcome difficulties and strive for a better life."
The family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Lua, residing in Vinh Phong commune, is one of the impoverished households that the local authorities have been supporting in recent times. At a recent gift-giving ceremony, Ms. Lua shared: “My family is classified as a poor household with an unstable income. I am very grateful for the commune's concern and assistance in repairing our house to make it more sturdy, so that my family can have a better life.”
According to Mr. Huynh Quoc Huy, Chairman of the People's Committee of Vinh Phong commune, in implementing the national target program for sustainable poverty reduction, the locality focuses all resources on caring for the poor. Accordingly, the commune has implemented many comprehensive solutions and poverty reduction policies to improve living conditions and increase access to social services. In addition, the commune is reviewing those who are unable to escape poverty to develop appropriate support plans, mobilizing social resources, and encouraging all citizens to participate in the emulation movement "Joining hands for the poor - leaving no one behind".
Recognizing poverty reduction as a crucial task to effectively serve the socio -economic development goals of the locality, the Party committees and authorities of Vinh Phong commune have issued numerous documents to implement poverty reduction efforts aimed at improving living standards and increasing income for the people. Simultaneously, they fully implement policies and regulations for poor and near-poor households, social welfare beneficiaries, and those who have contributed to the revolution, creating conditions for the poor to access basic social services such as housing, preferential loans, healthcare, and education in the best possible way.
"To effectively care for the poor and those in difficult circumstances, in addition to implementing the correct, complete, and timely policies and regulations for the poor, local Party committees and authorities should pay attention to economic development, job creation, and income improvement for the people, especially for poor and near-poor households with the potential to escape poverty," said Mr. Huynh Quoc Huy.
To facilitate production development for poor, near-poor, and disadvantaged households, Vinh Phong commune has implemented various policies to support loans from the Social Policy Bank, as well as providing seedlings and livestock. Many livelihood models, cooperatives, and production groups have been established, creating favorable conditions for poor, near-poor, newly-escaped-from-poverty households, and other policy beneficiaries to access preferential loans for production development, job creation, and improved living conditions. This has made a positive contribution to poverty reduction and social security in the locality, receiving the support and approval of the people. As a result, the current poverty rate in Vinh Phong commune is 0.82%, and the near-poverty rate is 1.94%, a decrease of 13 households compared to 2024.
It can be affirmed that the timely attention and support from local Party committees and authorities have further motivated families to overcome difficulties, develop their economy, and stabilize their lives.
| To ensure everyone can celebrate the Lunar New Year 2026 joyfully and warmly, the People's Committee of Vinh Phong commune plans to donate more than 740 gift packages to poor households, near-poor households, households with difficult circumstances, and children with special circumstances in the commune.
