Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Quyet Thang, who has worked at Hanoi Polytechnic for more than 20 years, has made many contributions to promoting the innovation of methods and improving the quality of admissions, participating in the development of a project to transform the organizational model of Hanoi Polytechnic towards a multidisciplinary and multi-disciplinary university on an international level and contributing to raising the university's position in the world ranking system.
Since 1998, he has been a lecturer at Hanoi University of Science and Technology.
In 2009, he held the position of Director of the Institute of Information and Communication Technology. In 2020, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Quyet Thang was appointed Rector of Hanoi University of Science and Technology. By 2022, the Prime Minister has issued Decision No. 1512/QD-TTg to transform Hanoi University of Science and Technology into Hanoi University of Science and Technology. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Quyet Thang was recognized as the Director of Hanoi University of Science and Technology.
As an education manager, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Quyet Thang has closely directed and successfully implemented the transformation of the university organizational model. Parallel with the transformation process is the rearrangement of the organizational apparatus towards a streamlined, efficient direction, improving the quality and operational efficiency of public non-business units. Hanoi University of Science and Technology has established 5 Schools under the University on the basis of reorganizing training institutes and research institutes (School of Mechanics, School of Information Technology, School of Electrical - Electronics, School of Materials, School of Chemistry and Life Sciences).
The transformation process has brought many encouraging results. The number of units under/under the university decreased from 52 to 42 units. After completing the process of transforming the model from university to university, Hanoi University of Science and Technology will reduce the number of focal points of administrative management units and management staff at all levels by 50-60%.
