On March 25, many social organizations, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and domestic and foreign universities were present at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (National University of Ho Chi Minh City). , offering many perspectives on building young human resources in the social work sector.

Since 2016, March 25 has been chosen by the Prime Minister as Vietnam Social Work Day.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nha - executive director of the Christina Noble Children's Foundation (CNCF) project office, a non-governmental organization operating in many countries with support programs for children - said that in the past, leaders Social work is often not emphasized.

People who hold this position often have no expertise and are often assigned to different branches, for example, the head of the social work department of hospitals is often a part-time doctor.

However, currently, agencies and units have begun to prioritize recruiting specialized personnel into social work departments.

Many companies and businesses with CSR departments also hunt to recruit young people with the right majors to deploy social activities for businesses more professionally.

Mr. Nha added that in addition to domestic jobs, there are also non-governmental organizations, where more and more young Vietnamese people choose to work.

“To work for international social projects, first of all you need to be passionate about contributing to a large enough community. Some projects in remote and difficult areas in poor countries can only be pursued with real enthusiasm," Mr. Nha said.

Professor Tamir Chultemsuren, vice president of the School of Sciences and Arts, Mongolian National University, said that in Mongolia, social work human resources are still very lacking.

Young people are quite shy about this field of study, mostly because the salary is not high and the work is very stressful, from contacting people who need help, finding funding sources to coordinating with government agencies and organizations. other non-governmental.

“I realize this is a common trend in many developing countries. However, when economic life improves, there will be more financial resources and investment for social activities. Human resources working for this industry will receive higher compensation," said Professor Tamir Chultemsuren.

Also according to professor Tamir Chultemsuren, a highlight of many Vietnamese students that he noticed is that they always proactively participate in social projects from a very young age.

Many of you boldly create very creative projects, supporting children, the elderly, the poor, the disabled... while still in school.

Associate Professor, Dr. Huynh Van Chan, dean of the Department of Social Work, University of Social Sciences and Humanities (National University of Ho Chi Minh City), said that many domestic and foreign universities are currently offering programs Scholarship program for young people to study social work. Many businesses and social funds also participate in providing scholarships, attracting more students to study this field.
