Leveraging advantages

Following the merger, Vinh Tuy commune has a population of over 12,000 across 27 villages, possessing the distinct advantage of having National Highway 2 running through it and being adjacent to the Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang Expressway interchange. The gradually improving transportation infrastructure has opened up new development opportunities, helping the locality shorten the distance to connect with major economic centers.

Amidst the local investment attraction trend, the Nam Quang Industrial Cluster stands out with five licensed businesses. At Thai Hoang Construction and Trading Joint Stock Company, production is bustling from early morning. Plywood bales are continuously being completed and packaged in preparation for export to the US and European markets.

According to Tran Hai Anh, General Director of the company, “Choosing Vinh Tuy to locate the factory was a decision based on its advantageous location and labor resources. Convenient transportation helps the company significantly reduce logistics costs, while the local labor force is abundant and easy to train. These are important factors that help the company stabilize production and expand its export market.”

Currently, Thai Hoang Construction and Trading Joint Stock Company maintains a continuous 3-shift production schedule to meet orders. With a factory area of 2 hectares, the production line yields 30,000 cubic meters of plywood annually. The company provides stable employment for nearly 150 local workers with an average income of approximately 8 million VND per person per month. In addition, the company provides meals during shifts and equips workers with full personal protective equipment to ensure safe working conditions.

Comrade Nguyen Van Cuong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Vinh Tuy commune, shared: "The direct connection with the Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang Expressway helps reduce logistics costs, facilitates the circulation of goods, and expands the consumer market. This is the foundation for the locality to gradually shift its economic structure towards industry and services. In recent times, the commune has focused on improving the investment environment, creating favorable conditions for businesses to implement projects, while also paying attention to vocational training and improving the quality of local human resources."

Change stemming from industry

With factories and workshops springing up along National Highway 2, industry is gradually transforming the appearance of the Vinh Tuy countryside. Along with other businesses in the area, HTC Vina Energy Co., Ltd., with a registered capital of 30 billion VND and a factory area of 1.2 hectares, specializes in producing wood pellets for export to the Japanese market. Currently, the company employs 17 local workers.

Previously, after each harvest season, many young laborers in Vinh Tuy commune chose to leave their hometown to work elsewhere. Now, however, many have found stable employment right in their hometown. From farmers familiar with the fields, many laborers are gradually adapting to the factory environment and industrial production lines.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, a worker at HTC Vina Energy Co., Ltd., shared that he previously worked as a laborer in the lowlands with unstable jobs, far from his family. Since joining the wood pellet production company, his income has reached 8 million VND per month, his life is more stable, and he has the means to take care of his family and children right in his hometown.

Along with the factories, many types of services have also developed. Restaurants, grocery stores, transportation services, mechanical repair shops, etc., are increasingly appearing around the industrial cluster, creating additional livelihoods for the people. Many households have boldly expanded their businesses, invested in transportation vehicles, and gradually shifted from purely agricultural production to service and trade.

Along National Highway 2, containers line up leaving the factory towards the seaport, carrying the region's products to the international market. Today, Vinh Tuy is gradually transforming into a shining example of industrial development, creating stable livelihoods for local people.
