VN-Index narrows its decline thanks to bargain-hunting demand.

NDO - On April 4th, the VN-Index initially fell by over 70 points. However, aggressive buying at the bottom brought back demand, narrowing the decline. At the close, the market breadth was dominated by red, with 513 stocks declining and 255 stocks rising. The VN-Index closed down 19.17 points at 1,210.67 points.

Market liquidity continued to decrease compared to the previous session, with a total trading volume of over 2,217.72 million shares across all three exchanges, equivalent to a total trading value of over 45,185.05 billion VND.

Foreign investors continued their net selling streak for the 14th consecutive session across all three exchanges, totaling over VND 1,687.90 billion, focusing on stocks such asFPT (VND 580.81 billion), VCB (VND 376.47 billion), SSI (VND 297.45 billion), TPB (VND 195.29 billion), FUEVFVND (VND 114.98 billion), etc.

Conversely, the stocks that saw significant net buying in this session included GEX (VND 368.29 billion),SHB (VND 176.57 billion), HVN (VND 46.40 billion), KDH (VND 45.80 billion), VIC (VND 38.31 billion), etc.

On the HoSE exchange, the trading value continued its upward trend compared to the previous session, reaching over 25,888 billion VND.

In this session, the stocks that contributed positively to the VN-Index's increase of over 7.1 points included: VIC, LPB, VNM, VHM, STB, SHB, GEE, HVN, SSB, and VCI.

Conversely, the stocks that negatively impacted the VN-Index, causing it to drop by more than 11.07 points, included: GAS, GVR, BCM, HPG, MSN, VPB, BSR , SAB, PLX, and MWG.

In terms of sectors, the software sector showed mixed performance in this session, with slight gains of 0.05%, mainly driven by HPT and PAI. Declining stocks included FPT, ITD, and PIA.

Securities stocks were mostly in the red, with a sharp decline of 2.38%, mainly driven by SSI, VND, HCM, VIX, MBS, FTS, etc. Conversely, gainers included VCI, BSI, etc.

Similarly, the banking sector stocks performed negatively in this session, falling by 0.56%, mainly due to declines in VCB, CTG, TCB, VPB, MBB, ACB, HDB, etc. A few stocks saw gains, including LPB and STB.

Real estate stocks saw a 1.18% decline in this session, with many hitting the floor price, mainly including BCM, SSH, KDH, KBC, VPI, NVL, etc. Conversely, gainers included VIC, VHM, VRE, etc.
