VNPAY achieves global MPoC security certification for PhonePOS solution

Security "passport"

MPoC (Mobile Payments on Commercial Off-The-Shelf) is a standard published by the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council (PCI SSC), which establishes strict requirements for contactless payment solutions using smart mobile devices.

Unlike previous standards that only applied to dedicated devices, MPoC extends the security scope to mobile devices. Thanks to that, users can enter PIN codes and make contactless payments right on their smartphones without the need for a physical POS machine.

This opens up access to modern payment technology in a more flexible and user-friendly way.

To achieve MPoC certification, a payment solution must meet more than 190 technical requirements related to security, monitoring and system operations.

In addition to end-to-end data encryption, the standard also requires attack detection, periodic security testing, and security assurance throughout the entire process of installing, using, and updating software on the device.

Notably, MPoC is not simply a "technical passport", but also a door for businesses that own the certificate to expand cooperation when most international payment systems set security compliance as a prerequisite.

In the context of Vietnam promoting integration and building a modern national payment infrastructure, the fact that a domestic unit has achieved MPoC standards is considered a positive signal.

It is known that the VNPAY PhonePOS solution has been deployed in more than 10,000 businesses, and continues to be upgraded in terms of security after achieving MPoC certification. Instead of having to invest in expensive specialized POS machines, businesses now only need an Android phone with NFC support to accept card payments.

Integrated in the VNPAY Merchant application, PhonePOS allows quick payment by touch, supporting a variety of contactless card payments such as Visa, Master, JCB, Napas,... or payment via Samsung Pay, Google Pay or Apple Pay.

This solution is especially suitable for small business models such as restaurants, coffee shops, retail stores, or even shippers who need flexible payment tools while still ensuring data security.

In addition to the payment receiving function, PhonePOS also provides an intuitive transaction reporting system, helping sellers track cash flow, control revenue and optimize business operations.
