The Earthquake Information and Tsunami Warning Center of the National Institute of Earth Sciences has just issued an earthquake alert.
Accordingly, at 11:50:54 AM on June 4th, an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.3 and a focal depth of approximately 8.2 km occurred at coordinates 14.833 degrees North latitude and 108.251 degrees East longitude, in the Mang But commune, Quang Ngai province. The level of natural disaster risk is Level 0.
The Earthquake Information and Tsunami Warning Center – Institute of Earth Sciences is continuing to monitor this earthquake.

An earthquake occurred in Mang But commune, Quang Ngai province.
Dr. Nguyen Xuan Anh, Director of the Institute of Earth Sciences, stated that these are induced earthquakes, usually of weak or moderate intensity, rarely causing serious damage like natural tectonic earthquakes. Induced earthquakes occur cyclically, closely related to the water storage activity of reservoirs. There are periods of weak earthquake activity, and periods of frequent earthquakes.
The predicted earthquake activity in this area will continue for many years, possibly 10 years before stabilizing, but it is unlikely to exceed 5.5 magnitude.
In Vietnam, earthquakes with a magnitude of 4-5 are considered mild. When an earthquake occurs, objects inside the house vibrate and make noise. Many people feel the earthquake. Those outside feel slight tremors. Generally, it causes little to no damage. The average frequency worldwide is 10,000-15,000 earthquakes per year.
Experts from the Institute of Earth Sciences (Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology) advise that during an earthquake, people should remain calm and hold onto door frames or take shelter under tables if in a sturdy building. If outdoors, people should stay away from power lines and utility poles and run to open areas. If driving, people should try to pull over to the side of the road and stop…
