For many years, the staff at the Provincial Comprehensive Social Welfare Center have quietly cared for and protected those less fortunate.
The provincial comprehensive social welfare facility currently houses 87 elderly people without family support, people with intellectual disabilities, disabled individuals, and children in particularly difficult circumstances, who are being cared for and nurtured. It is staffed by 49 officers and employees who provide daily care.

Ms. Vy Thi Huyen Nhung, an officer at the Provincial Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, said: "I have been working here for over 15 years. Our work doesn't have fixed hours; we're there whenever the elderly need us or the children are fussy. There are nights when we have to stay up all night to monitor and care for the elderly and children when they are sick. It's hard work, but seeing the elderly healthy and happy, and the children growing up day by day, makes all our efforts worthwhile."
Beyond simply caring for their meals and sleep, the staff members have become like family to the elderly and children here. For the lonely elderly, their daily attention and conversations are a great source of encouragement, helping to alleviate their loneliness. As for the children with special circumstances, the staff members are both caregivers and emotional support, teaching and guiding them step by step as they grow, partially compensating for the lack of family affection.
Dang Thi Khanh Ly (12 years old) has been cared for at the facility since she was 3 years old after being rescued by authorities from a human trafficking case. Initially, Ly endured long days of fear, frequently waking up in panic at night. The perseverance and dedicated care of the staff at the facility helped her gradually stabilize her mental state, become more open, and confidently attend school. Khanh Ly shared: "Here, the staff take very good care of me. Thanks to this warm home and the love of my 'second mothers,' I no longer feel afraid. I always consider this my home."
Beyond simply caring for and nurturing, the staff at the facility proactively create opportunities for the beneficiaries, especially children, to learn, develop life skills, and gradually integrate into the community. In fact, many children who have grown up here have learned vocational skills, found stable jobs, and confidently built their own lives. A prime example is Hoang Thi Hoa (born in 1996), currently working at the Provincial Comprehensive Social Welfare Center. Hoa shared: In 2011, while in 10th grade, she was admitted to the facility because she was orphaned. Here, she has always received care, attention, and opportunities for learning from the staff. Afterward, she studied medicine and returned to work at the facility after graduation. She considers it her second home and wishes to contribute to its care and show her gratitude for the place that nurtured her.
Ms. Vy Thi Thanh, Director of the Provincial Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, stated: To improve the quality of its staff, the center annually sends its employees to training courses organized by the Department of Health to enhance their professional skills and caregiving abilities. The center also incorporates the exchange and sharing of experiences into meetings and activities to allow staff to learn from each other and improve their expertise. Furthermore, the center prioritizes awarding exceptional achievements or proposing commendations to the Department of Health for outstanding individuals and groups, thereby motivating staff to be more dedicated and committed to their profession.
The staff at the Provincial Comprehensive Social Welfare Center not only fulfill their responsibilities but also silently offer love and build homes for the less fortunate. Their daily dedication contributes to spreading humanitarian values, helping vulnerable people regain faith and strength in life.
