According to the WHO, after updating and reassessing the latest information, the agency concludes that the risk to public health globally has not changed.

Although new cases may still appear among passengers and crew members of the MV Hondius who were exposed before the lockdown was implemented, the risk of further infection is expected to decrease significantly after health control measures are put in place.

The MV Hondius is operated by the Dutch company Oceanwide Expeditions. According to the schedule, the ship will dock in Rotterdam on May 18th so that the last 27 people on board, including 25 crew members and 2 medical personnel, can disembark.

Previously, MV Hondius became the focus of attention when it reported the deaths of three passengers due to Hanta virus infection. This is a rare virus with a dangerous progression, and there is currently no vaccine or specific treatment for it.
