After three days of early screenings (from May 15th to 17th), Doraemon Movie 45 officially premiered on May 22nd. According to statistics from the independent box office website Box Office Vietnam, as of the morning of May 25th, the film has grossed over 94 billion VND. Each day, the film maintains a very high number of screenings, averaging over 5,000 screenings per day.

The film's impressive box office performance created a significant gap between it and other films on the box office charts, including foreign blockbusters.

Ranked number 2 is Goodbye Gohan, as the film continues to maintain a stable audience. The Thai film currently has a total revenue of nearly 30 billion VND.

The Korean drama "Ghost in the Man-Eating Lake," while not a box office hit, still has a stable audience and has currently grossed over 16 billion won.

Last week, Star Wars: Mandalorian and Grogu – a film with a production budget of $165 million – had rather lackluster box office performance in Vietnam, earning only over 1.8 billion VND.

Another recently released horror film, "Village of the Dead," from Thai cinema, also had low box office revenue, reaching just over 3.8 billion VND.

This also marks the first time since the beginning of 2026 that the top 5 of Vietnam's box office rankings are completely devoid of domestic films.

Closely following the top 5 is "Phi Phong: Blood Demon of the Sacred Forest ". Director Do Quoc Trung's film has now grossed over 200 billion VND at the box office and is the second film in 2026 to surpass this milestone.

This week, "Borrowed Shells ," a film marking the return of director Dinh Tuan Vu after a 6-year hiatus, will have early screenings for 3 days from May 29th to 31st before its official release on June 5th.

Additionally, a series of imported works are also scheduled to be released this week, including: The Guest, The Strange Temple 5, Journey to the West: Uproar, Kumanthong - The Demon Guide, and Three-Faced ...
