Dong Thanh commune (Ho Chi Minh City) has put into operation 14 online conference points, allowing the People's Committees of the hamlets to attend meetings directly from their local locations, saving travel time and effort and dedicating more time to closely monitoring the lives of the people.

On December 21st, Mr. Nguyen Le Trong Tam, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Thanh Commune (Ho Chi Minh City), announced that Dong Thanh Commune has officially launched its online conferencing system at 14 locations. This is an important step in digital transformation, aiming to realize the goal of modern, streamlined, and efficient governance.

According to Mr. Nguyen Le Trong Tam, recognizing digital transformation as a key political task, the Party Committee of Dong Thanh commune has decisively directed the comprehensive reform of leadership methods.

This initiative goes beyond simply deploying 14 online conference points to break down geographical barriers; it also demonstrates a breakthrough through the "Paperless Meeting Room" model.

The complete shift from paper to digital documents in meetings is a testament to the innovative thinking of the Dong Thanh Commune Party Committee, ensuring that policies and resolutions are conveyed seamlessly and promptly, while maximizing resource and time savings.

Under the direction of the Party Committee, this system has been applied synchronously to all organizations. Specifically, the People's Council uses paperless meeting rooms and online connectivity to hold sessions and discuss resolutions flexibly. The Fatherland Front and other mass organizations hold community meetings, interact with voters, and gather public opinions quickly and effectively.

Representatives from the People's Committees of 126 hamlets can attend the meeting directly from their local locations, saving travel time and allowing them to focus more on the lives of the people.

Mr. Nguyen Le Trong Tam stated that a highlight in the commune's digital transformation roadmap is the initial application of artificial intelligence (AI) to automate the handling of some administrative procedures, helping to shorten the processing time for citizens' applications.

In addition, the "Digital Hamlet" model is bringing technological equipment directly to the grassroots level. Applications such as the 1022 software, Digital Citizen, and especially the "Dong Thanh Digital" application (expected to launch at the end of December 2025) will create a modern interactive environment between the government and the people.

Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online , Mr. La Van Duc, Head of the Front Committee of Hamlet 8, happily said: "Online meetings and the absence of paper documents are very convenient. When administrative procedures are streamlined, we have more opportunities to truly be close to and better care for the people."
