Việt NamViệt Nam30/11/2024

Besides investing in renovation and upgrading its appearance, in recent times, many rich and diverse cultural programs, events, and activities have been organized at Hoi An Park, attracting a large number of tourists from inside and outside the province. In particular, the efforts to encourage and connect individuals and organizations to participate in cultural spaces within the replica of Hoi An's old town demonstrate the city's innovative thinking and approach in unleashing the potential and cultural values associated with tourism development.

Socializing cultural activities - viewed from the perspective of Hoi An's old town streets. Tourists enjoy taking souvenir photos with the display of traditional costumes of Vietnamese ethnic communities at "Mén's House" (Hoi An Park).

Hoi An Park, built in 2003, stretches along two of Thanh Hoa City's most beautiful and bustling streets, Le Hoan Street and Le Loi Boulevard, covering an area of approximately 24 hectares. This project commemorates the strong and enduring friendship between Thanh Hoa City and Hoi An City. Strolling through the green space, enjoying a relaxing and pleasant atmosphere, visitors can learn about, explore , and capture many beautiful photos with family, friends, and loved ones at various structures and features reflecting Hoi An's rich culture, such as: the Traditional House – which preserves documents and artifacts from both cities; the monument and replica of the Japanese Bridge; and a replica of Hoi An's ancient town.

Deeply aware of the potential and value of Hoi An Park, over the years, Thanh Hoa City has carried out many practical and meaningful activities to widely promote the cultural beauty, tourism, and unwavering friendship between Thanh Hoa City and Hoi An City ( Quang Nam ) to a large number of people and tourists from all over the country; diversifying products and attractive, unique entertainment spots to promote tourism development. Besides regularly organizing a series of events within the framework of the Thanh Hoa City - Hoi An City Cultural Week or during holidays and festivals, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in coordination with the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa City, organizes a weekly Saturday evening art program with the theme "Weekend Rendezvous"...

The People's Committee of Thanh Hoa City has issued a plan for managing, exploiting, and operating a replica of the Hoi An ancient town under a socialized model. Mr. Hoang Cao Thang, Director of the Thanh Hoa City Center for Culture, Information, Sports and Tourism, commented: “With the aim of diversifying and improving the spiritual life of the people and promoting tourism development in Thanh Hoa City, in recent years, cultural activities in the city in general, and the Hoi An cultural space in particular, have always received enthusiastic participation and support from organizations, individuals, businesses, and the community. At some major events such as the Thanh Hoa City - Hoi An City Cultural Week; the Cultural and Artistic Program celebrating National Day (September 2nd)..., some businesses have collaborated to invest in decorating spaces, organizing Food Festivals, product exhibitions, etc., with a total budget of billions of VND. Many organizations and individuals have voluntarily participated in organizing exhibition booths and promoting culture in the replica of Hoi An ancient town. It can be affirmed that mobilizing social resources has great significance and plays an important role in organizing "Organizing activities contributes to making Hoi An's cultural space more beautiful and attractive in the eyes of tourists, and elevating tourism products for Thanh Hoa City."

The Hoi An Old Town replica consists of 15 stalls arranged for display and collaboration with organizations, individuals, and businesses offering products, experiences, and beverages. Activities in this replica are divided into two zones, tentatively called Zone A and Zone B, using the Japanese Bridge as the boundary. The 9 stalls (starting from the Hoi An Park entrance, tentatively called Zone A) are quite vibrant and active, showcasing diverse cultural nuances and clearly demonstrating the cultural exchange between Thanh Hoa province and Hoi An.

The Thanh Hoa City Center for Culture, Information, Sports, and Tourism has made efforts to connect with organizations and individuals who have a love, passion, and deep understanding of preserving and promoting cultural values, and who possess a community-oriented spirit, to promote the development of tourism in Thanh Hoa City... participating in events and activities, working together to create a colorful cultural space, focusing on traditional and humanistic values in a replica of the Hoi An ancient town. From there, in addition to spaces displaying images of history and culture, combined with promoting tourism in Thanh Hoa City and Hoi An handicrafts; impressive cultural spaces such as: Hac Thanh Historical Museum; Thanh Hoa Bookstore; Vietnamese Traditional Clothing; Men's House; Hoai Music Street; Truc Chi Quan - Preserving the Soul of Vietnamese Bamboo; Hoi An Bookstore...

Although they haven't been open for long, each cultural space, meticulously designed and bearing a strong personal touch, has attracted the attention and affection of many visitors. Mentioning Hac Thanh Historical Museum or Thanh Hoa Bookstore immediately brings to mind spaces steeped in nostalgia and antiquity. The owner is Mr. Nguyen Huu Ngon, a man with a love, passion, and deep understanding of culture. He is a familiar face at cultural events and gatherings; frequently donates artifacts to the Thanh Hoa Provincial Museum; and possesses many unique collections such as: a collection of agricultural tools, stamps, spring newspapers, clocks, bicycles, etc.

Having participated in the Hoi An Old Town replica from the very beginning, Mr. Nguyen Huu Ngon's sole purpose was to satisfy his passion and contribute to promoting and spreading the beauty of the land and people of ancient Hac Thanh, Thanh Hoa City today, in particular, and Thanh Hoa province in general. Mr. Ngon explained: "Based on the realities of life in the residential areas, the owners of the cultural spaces here met and agreed on operating regulations, electing a street leader. The regulations stipulate opening to visitors on Saturdays and Sundays, regularly organizing themed cultural activities, unified yet diverse, and offering free services to tourists."

Ms. Hoang Thi Van (from Thanh Hoa City), along with her daughter and a few friends, excitedly and happily admired the traditional costumes of Vietnam's ethnic groups. After taking souvenir photos, Ms. Van and her friends enjoyed morning coffee and conversation while her daughter enthusiastically painted statues. Services such as serving drinks and painting statues have recently been implemented by the owners of "Mén's House" to enhance the attraction and experience for visitors to the exhibition space. Ms. Van shared: "As a city resident for over a decade, I can't remember how many times I've been to Hoi An Park, but I'm truly surprised by its development. Organizing cultural spaces that are both distinctly personal and integrated into the overall goal like this truly provides an interesting experience, suitable for all ages, and embodies the essence of cultural tourism."

In the context of increasingly rapid urbanization and a fast-paced, stressful urban life, city dwellers need more public cultural spaces like Hoi An Park. It's a place where they can relax, stroll, exercise in lush green spaces, enjoy time with friends and family on weekends, and reconnect with familiar cultural values without having to travel far. On another level, for tourists visiting Thanh Hoa City, what they most eagerly anticipate is experiencing a unique cultural space that is both deeply rooted in local culture and open and interconnected. Hoi An Park is one of the destinations that meets these requirements.

Mr. Hoang Cao Thang, Director of the Thanh Hoa City Center for Culture, Information, Sports and Tourism, said: “Developing the ancient town version expands the buffer zones, ensuring the promotion of unique identity and sustainability. In the coming time, Thanh Hoa City will continue to invest funds to maintain and improve the quality of organizing and implementing major events throughout the year in the Hoi An cultural space such as: Thanh Hoa City - Hoi An City Cultural Week; Cultural and Artistic Program to celebrate National Day (September 2nd); Weekend Rendezvous Program... To have more resources to organize more cultural, recreational and entertainment activities, the center will strive to connect and call on organizations, individuals, and businesses to join hands and contribute. Along with that, the center will continue to focus on tourism promotion and marketing; innovate operating methods; diversify tourism products..., thereby striving to make tourism a strong economic sector, accounting for an increasingly higher proportion in the GDP structure, creating "Driving force for socio-economic development."

Maintaining and developing cultural activities at Hoi An Park has become truly vibrant and attractive thanks to the participation and contributions of organizations, individuals, and businesses. In the context of limited resources, the socialization of cultural activities is a correct and trend-setting approach. However, looking at the activities at the Hoi An Old Town replica, it is thought that Thanh Hoa City needs to pay more attention to, acknowledge, and provide more timely support to participating entities, especially in management and security matters.
