Reducing information poverty is seen as an "opening" that helps people access and grasp more useful information and knowledge, contributing to raising the intellectual level and aiming for sustainable poverty alleviation.
Over the past period, Nghia Hanh commune has maintained various forms of visual propaganda and promotion through billboards, banners, and slogans. In particular, the local social media pages regularly update information, legal regulations, and policies and benefits for the people; promptly commending good people, good deeds, and effective business models to be replicated in the community.

Nghia Hanh commune provides livelihoods for the poor.
According to Huynh Thi Thong, Secretary of the Phu Vinh Trung village Party branch, the Zalo groups of each village have become a useful and quick information channel for officials and people in disseminating information and promoting local movements and activities.
In addition to poverty reduction, information is also integrated into meetings and activities of associations, organizations, and villages; coordinating job counseling and vocational training for workers from poor households, near-poor households, and newly-escaped-from-poverty households...
"The dissemination of information through digital channels has helped many households access preferential credit policies, choose suitable models, and boldly change their way of thinking and doing things, thereby opening up opportunities for sustainable poverty alleviation," Ms. Thong shared.

In recent times, the Nghia Hanh commune government has focused on promoting poverty reduction through various forms of information dissemination, such as the commune's broadcasting system; disseminating information through mass media and social networks… to help people easily access information, improve their knowledge and skills in production and economic development, and learn effective poverty reduction methods and models.
Nguyen Huu Tinh, head of Phu Vinh Trung village, shared: “We disseminate information to help people understand the policies and guidelines of the Party and the State, including the National Target Program for Sustainable Poverty Reduction, through the public address system and community meetings, creating a smooth flow of information. This helps people grasp policies promptly and be more proactive.”
To date, the public address system has been widely invested in throughout the villages and broadcasts daily at fixed times in the morning and evening; on occasions with important events, additional time for information and propaganda is added at other times of the day.

Ms. Tran Thi Bich Loan, a reporter from the Nghia Hanh Commune Public Service Center, said: “The locality is applying multi-media communication through loudspeaker systems using information and telecommunication technology, the Nghia Hanh media fanpage, and village loudspeaker systems. Through these, people can fully access the poverty reduction policies of the Party and the State, as well as those of the locality.”
In addition to information and propaganda work, Nghia Hanh commune organizes training courses for commune and village-level officials working on poverty reduction. This contributes to raising awareness and responsibility among officials, Party members, civil servants, and public employees in poverty reduction efforts.
Local authorities, in coordination with central and local press agencies, will continue to effectively maintain special pages and sections on poverty reduction; strengthen news articles and reports reflecting the situation of poverty reduction implementation in various fields, experiences in production; and commend and encourage outstanding collectives and individuals…

According to Vu Thi Kim Loan, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghia Hanh commune, when people have access to complete information and see successful models right in their locality, they boldly change their mindset, have the motivation to strive to escape poverty, and contribute to achieving the commune's sustainable poverty reduction goals.
"In poverty reduction efforts, the most important thing is changing people's perceptions. The local approach is to strengthen information and communication work, while also understanding the thoughts and aspirations of the people to provide appropriate and effective support, helping them rise out of poverty sustainably," Ms. Loan emphasized.
In the coming period, the commune will continue to strengthen communication programs aimed at reaching more individual households. At the same time, it will leverage the role of its staff to effectively convey messages and disseminate successful poverty reduction models.
