Building new cities in a new context.

Following the merger of Thai Nguyen and Bac Kan provinces, Thai Nguyen province now has 77 communes and 15 wards. Entering a new phase of development, Thai Nguyen province is striving to realize its goal of building increasingly spacious, modern, green, clean, beautiful, civilized, and sustainable urban areas.

Thai Nguyen is building a civilized urban area befitting its new level of development.

In the early days of the newly established province, Thai Nguyen "activated" the goal of building a civilized urban area, continuing to implement it extensively along with patriotic emulation movements. This marks the end of a phase of implementing the program to build a civilized urban area in the two former provinces, while also opening up many great opportunities as the two provinces become "one."

Over the past few years, the program for building civilized cities has been implemented synchronously and effectively by both provinces, with a shared focus on the interests of the people. The implementation of the program has had a direct impact on all aspects of socio -economic life.

Accordingly, the mindset and awareness of the people have changed, and they are actively participating in patriotic emulation movements, contributing to gradually building Thai Nguyen province into an increasingly prosperous and beautiful province in a civilized and modern direction, worthy of being the gateway province of the central provinces of the Viet Bac region to the capital Hanoi .

As the standing agency, in recent years, the Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thai Nguyen and Bac Kan provinces have proactively advised the provincial authorities to issue guiding documents and directives to all levels, sectors, and localities on the implementation of building civilized urban areas.

In the last two years, the two departments have spearheaded the publication of approximately 5,000 copies of guidance documents on building civilized urban areas; 100% of grassroots officials involved in the Civilized Urban Area Construction Program have had access to the system of directives and guidelines from the Central Government and the province; and have participated in training courses and workshops on the content and solutions for building civilized urban areas.

During annual holidays and festivals, along main roads and in residential areas, relevant agencies and units organize the display of over 1,000 banners and flags promoting the content of the Civilized Urban Development Program. In particular, in implementation, localities have flexibly integrated this with the "All People Unite to Build a Culturally Rich Life" movement and the building of advanced residential areas.

Community centers are places where people regularly organize community activities.

Thanks to the effective implementation of the Civilized Urban Development Program, residents in residential areas have actively participated in donating land and labor to expand the transportation system. In many residential areas, people have organized the construction of flower-lined streets; contributed to building street lighting systems in alleys and lanes; organized environmental sanitation work on weekends and eliminated garbage hotspots.

One of the outstanding features in building civilized urban areas is the active participation of mass organizations and citizens. Agencies and mass organizations participate appropriately according to their functions. Specifically, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee proactively coordinates with all levels and sectors to implement the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas," integrating the content of civilized urban areas into cultural, sports, and legal awareness activities.

Organizations and associations such as the Women's Union, the Youth Union, the Veterans Association, and the Farmers Association play a core role in disseminating information and mobilizing members to actively register and participate in quality activities.

Along with propaganda and mobilization, monitoring and evaluation work has also been implemented seriously and systematically. Local authorities organize surveys on the level of satisfaction of people with the results of building civilized urban areas, ensuring transparency, adherence to procedures, and preventing complaints. The results are publicly posted at the ward People's Committee headquarters and the community cultural center.

Building on the achievements made, and entering the phase of merging the two provinces of Thai Nguyen and Bac Kan, in a new atmosphere and with new opportunities, Thai Nguyen province continues to effectively implement the Program for building civilized urban areas, considering it a central and continuous task in socio-economic development and improving the material and spiritual lives of the people.
