Building new urban areas in new context

Thai Nguyen builds a civilized urban area worthy of its new development stature.

In the early days of the new province, the goal of building a civilized urban area was "activated" by Thai Nguyen and continued to be widely implemented along with patriotic emulation movements. This was the time to close a period of implementation and realization of the Civilized Urban Area Construction Program in the two previous provinces, while opening up many great opportunities when the two provinces became "one family".

In recent years, the Civilized Urban Development Program has been implemented synchronously and effectively by the two provinces, aiming at the benefit of the people. The implementation of the Program has had a direct impact on all aspects of economic and social life.

Accordingly, people's thinking and awareness have changed, they have actively participated in patriotic emulation movements, contributing to gradually building Thai Nguyen province to become more and more prosperous and beautiful in the direction of civilization and modernity, worthy of being the gateway province of the central provinces of the Viet Bac region to the capital Hanoi .

As a standing agency, in recent years, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thai Nguyen and Bac Kan provinces has proactively advised the province to issue guiding documents and directions for all levels, sectors and localities on the implementation of civilized urban construction.

In the past two years, the two departments have presided over the publication of about 5,000 copies of documents guiding the implementation of civilized urban construction; 100% of grassroots cadres related to the Civilized Urban Construction Program have access to the system of guiding documents of the Central and the province; and have participated in training courses and seminars on the content and solutions for civilized urban construction.

On holidays and Tet every year, on main roads and residential areas, relevant agencies and units organize to hang more than 1,000 banners and propaganda flags related to the content of the Civilized Urban Construction Program. In particular, in the implementation, localities have flexibly integrated with the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life", building advanced residential areas.

From the effective implementation of the Civilized Urban Development Program, in residential areas, people actively participated in donating land and labor to expand the transportation system. In many residential areas, people organized the construction of flower streets; contributed to the construction of lighting systems in alleys and lanes; organized environmental sanitation workers on weekends and eliminated black spots of waste.

One of the highlights in building civilized urban areas is the active participation of mass organizations and people. Agencies and mass organizations participate in accordance with their functions. Specifically, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee proactively coordinates with all levels and sectors to implement the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas", integrating civilized urban content into cultural, sports and legal propaganda activities.

Associations and unions such as: Women's Union; Youth Union; Veterans Association; Farmers' Association... play a core role in propagating and mobilizing members to actively register to participate and implement with quality.

Along with propaganda and mobilization, monitoring and evaluation work is also carried out seriously and systematically. Localities organize polls on people's satisfaction with the results of building civilized urban areas, ensuring transparency, following procedures, and no complaints. The results are publicly posted at the ward People's Committee headquarters and the cultural house of the residential group.

Promoting the achieved results, entering the stage of merging the two provinces of Thai Nguyen and Bac Kan, in the new atmosphere and new opportunities, Thai Nguyen province continues to effectively implement the Program of building civilized urban areas, considering it a central and consistent task in socio-economic development, improving the material and spiritual life of the people.
