TTH.VN - On the afternoon of April 29th, the Department of Industry and Trade organized a conference to consider awarding the titles of "Hue Artisan," "People's Artisan," and "Outstanding Artisan" in the field of handicraft and fine arts, and to select typical rural industrial products of Hue City in 2025.

Accordingly, the criteria for becoming a "Hue Artisan" are: loyalty to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, good adherence to the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws; good moral character, exceptional knowledge and skills, and significant contributions to the preservation and promotion of traditional crafts in the locality. Furthermore, the individual must have works or products that meet the criteria of winning at least a third prize or two consolation prizes in competitions related to traditional crafts organized by competent provincial/city authorities; and have at least 12 years of continuous or cumulative experience in traditional crafts.

Specifically regarding the awarding of the title "People's Artisan," this category also includes Vietnamese citizens residing in Hue City, working in the field of traditional crafts; loyal to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; having continuously worked in traditional crafts for 20 years or more, and possessing high moral character, dedication, and commitment to the craft…

This year's selection of outstanding rural industrial products at the city level also includes industrial and handicraft products from directly invested rural industrial establishments in districts, towns, and wards (within districts) that have been converted from communes within the past 5 years, as stipulated in Government Decree 45/2012/ND-CP dated May 21, 2012.

Many traditional handicraft industrial products in Hue City participated in the voting.

The purpose of organizing the evaluation and awarding of the title of Artisan in the field of traditional crafts and handicrafts in the locality in 2025 is to recognize the contributions of artisans; to honor artisans who have contributed to the development of traditional crafts and handicrafts in Hue. At the same time, it aims to encourage, motivate, and commend rural industrial establishments whose products are selected as outstanding handicraft products in the city.
