Xiaomi launches Mix Plip 2 at the end of June with many upgrades

Xiaomi posted an image confirming that the company will launch Xiaomi MIX Flip in June 2025 and this information was also quoted by Gizmochina and GSMArena.

Xiaomi MIX Flip 2 is expected to be Xiaomi's next generation clamshell smartphone and the device seems to have upgraded hardware configuration and camera system compared to its predecessor Xiaomi MIX Flip (launched in July 2024).

Xiaomi's latest teaser confirms the Mix Flip 2 will launch in June.

According to Xiaomi's introduction, MIX Flip 2 will be equipped with Leica lens, marking a major upgrade in photography for Xiaomi's flip phone line. The camera cluster is expected to include a 50 MP main sensor and a 50 MP super wide-angle lens, supporting flexible photography in many conditions.

The device will have a 6.85-inch foldable OLED screen, 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, for a smooth and sharp display experience. Xiaomi MIX Flip 2 will likely run HyperOS 2 on Android 15, optimizing performance and multitasking capabilities for the unique folding form factor.

In terms of hardware, the device is confirmed to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, certification from the 3C agency confirms that the device has a large 5,100 mAh battery that supports 67 W fast charging and 50 W wireless charging. Another highlight is the water resistance with IPX8 standard, helping to improve durability during use.

With these impressive specifications, the Xiaomi MIX Flip 2 promises to be a formidable competitor to any competitor, especially in the increasingly competitive foldable phone market. The device will officially launch in the next few weeks in China, before being expected to expand to the international market.

Xiaomi's Chief Marketing Officer, Siqi Wei, revealed in a Weibo post that the company's President, Lu Weibing, recently had a discussion with users of the Xiaomi Mix Flip.

She said the discussion included the good things about using the phone, as well as the limitations and features that could be improved. This shows that the company is indeed looking to improve the current clamshell model. Therefore, we may see the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 soon.

The foldable phone is expected to launch alongside the Redmi K80 Ultra and a gaming-focused Redmi tablet. The Mix Flip 2 is said to be thinner and lighter than the current model, measuring 7.8mm thick when unfolded and weighing 192g. Previous leaks have suggested the phone could be 7.6mm thick when unfolded and weigh around 190g.
