At over 6 a.m., a large number of people arrived at the Son Kien Commune Party Committee headquarters to receive a free breakfast, gifts from the "zero-cost" stalls, and gifts from the organizers, creating a warm and festive atmosphere for Tet. Ms. Truong Thi Trang, residing in Muong Kinh A hamlet, Son Kien commune, shared: "When the commune informed me to come and receive gifts, I thought I would just get a small gift and go home, but I didn't expect to be treated to a free breakfast with many delicious dishes like vermicelli, rice, sweet soup, cakes, potatoes... it was very heartwarming." For Ms. Trang and many other people in difficult circumstances, this thoughtfulness was not only material support but also a warm display of human kindness, making everyone feel cared for.

Poor households and households with difficult circumstances in Son Kien commune will receive gifts during the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Horse 2026.

Giving gifts to the people is one of the activities in the "Volunteer Spring" program in 2026, organized by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Son Kien commune in coordination with political , social, and mass organizations in the area to help people celebrate Tet (Lunar New Year). Ms. Bui Thi Ngoc Que, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Son Kien commune, said: “With the goal of leaving no one behind, the "Volunteer Spring" program is not only an annual activity but also a bridge connecting benevolent hearts with disadvantaged households, children, and lonely elderly people in the commune. At the same time, it promotes the role and responsibility of political, social, and mass organizations in social welfare work, mobilizing social resources to jointly care for the lives of the people, so that Tet comes to every home in a more fulfilling and warm way.”

The "Spring Volunteer" program in Son Kien commune in 2026 provided over 1,500 charitable breakfast meals; mobilized support for the construction of 11 solidarity houses; donated desks to students; water filters and more than 370 gifts to near-poor households and households with difficult circumstances… with a total budget of over 800 million VND.

During the upcoming Lunar New Year (Year of the Horse) in 2026, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hon Dat commune and various organizations from the commune to the hamlets are expected to donate 1,000 gift packages to near-poor households and those in difficult circumstances. Ms. Dinh Thi Phuong Lan, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Hon Dat commune, stated: “These gifts are mobilized from various social resources, focusing on caring for disadvantaged households, children, and elderly people living alone. The locality hopes to spread the spirit of mutual support and ensure that no one is left behind during the Tet holiday.”

Hon Dat commune promptly handed over many solidarity houses to poor and near-poor households, allowing them to celebrate the Lunar New Year in their new homes. One of the families who received a solidarity house before the New Year, Ms. Thi Hanh, residing in Hon Soc hamlet, Hon Dat commune, expressed: “My old house had been dilapidated for a long time, and I was very worried about the rain and wind. Now that the local authorities have shown concern and supported the construction of a new house, I am very happy. This Tet, my family will have a decent and warmer place to live. I am very grateful to the government and benefactors.”

To practically care for the material and spiritual well-being of the people, union members, and youth during Tet (Lunar New Year), the Provincial Youth Union, in coordination with various units and Phu Tan commune, organized the "Spring of Love" program in 2026. The program included many meaningful activities such as free medical examinations and medication for 500 people; donating 150 gifts to disadvantaged households and children; organizing a charity market and a children's market; donating 1,200 sticky rice cakes to disadvantaged people; and providing 50 health insurance cards for students… totaling 550 million VND.

Ms. Thi Phuong Hong, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, affirmed: “The ‘Spring of Love’ program is a meaningful activity demonstrating the pioneering and volunteer spirit of young people in caring for social welfare, contributing to encouraging people, especially disadvantaged households and children, to have more conditions to enjoy the spring and celebrate Tet warmly and fully.”
