In the drizzling rain and cold of Ngoc Linh mountain, but from early morning, the Xo Dang people in Kon Tuong village gathered at the communal house to celebrate the Green Chung Cake Festival with the leaders of Kon Tum province. Everyone was happy and joyful, because this was the first time the village had the Provincial Party Secretary, provincial and district leaders come to attend the Green Chung Cake Festival and celebrate with the villagers.
Mr. A Dep, Village Elder, Prestigious Person of Kon Tuong Village, Ngoc Linh Commune, Dak Glei District excitedly shared: When hearing the news that the leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front of the province came to attend the Green Banh Chung Festival, the villagers of Kon Tuong were very happy. The villagers also prepared to repair the village roads, and wrapped Banh Chung with the officials, creating a joyful and warm atmosphere.
Each banh chung and gift given by Secretary of Kon Tum Provincial Party Committee Duong Van Trang and provincial and district leaders to Xo Dang households in Kon Tuong village has given them more motivation and confidence to overcome the current difficulties, towards a prosperous and fulfilling life and a brighter future.
Mr. A Nong, Kon Tuong Village, Ngoc Linh Commune, Dak Glei District shared: I feel very happy and joyful, this is like a big festival for the people of Kon Tuong Village. The villagers can participate in wrapping and cooking banh chung and receive gifts and New Year wishes from the province. This year's Tet is the happiest Tet for the villagers.
Ms. Y Khoi, Secretary of the Kon Tuong village Party Cell, Ngoc Linh commune, Dak Glei district said: The road to Kon Tuong village is a dirt road, you can only walk, but today the Provincial Party Secretary and provincial and district leaders came to the village to celebrate Tet and celebrate the Green Chung Cake Festival, which is an encouragement for people to try to overcome difficulties, work hard to produce, increase income and have a more stable life.
Kon Tuong village, Ngoc Linh commune is located halfway up the mountain, the whole village has 81 households, 277 people, 100% of whom are Xo Dang ethnic people. People's lives mainly depend on wet rice production and income from by-products under the forest canopy, growing medicinal plants, and contracting to manage and protect forests, so there are still many difficulties. Currently, the village has 16 poor households, accounting for 19.75% and 19 near-poor households, accounting for 23.45%.
Faced with the difficulties of the people of Kon Tuong village, Secretary of the Kon Tum Provincial Party Committee Duong Van Trang suggested that the Provincial People's Committee and Dak Glei district should soon complete the investment policy, and in the first months of 2025, they must start building a concrete road connecting the suspension bridge to the village and concreting the inner-village roads, ensuring convenient travel for families. At the same time, balance the budget, focus on investing in socio-economic development for the people of Kon Tuong village.
The Secretary of Kon Tum Provincial Party Committee also sent wishes of health, happiness, joy, and a peaceful New Year to all the people of Kon Tuong village and hoped that the people would continue to promote the spirit of solidarity and strive to escape poverty.
