Currently, Vietnamese agriculture has significant potential for development, particularly in processed products, high value-added products, and high-tech products. In the coming period, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment will finalize and concretize institutions that guide the development of the agricultural market; focus on implementing mechanisms and policies to remove bottlenecks and build sustainable agricultural supply chains; simplify export and quarantine procedures; and invest in clean and safe agricultural product value chains. In particular, the Ministry will strengthen measures to maximize opportunities to boost exports of Vietnam's advantageous products to potential and emerging markets such as South Korea, ASEAN, and the Middle East.

According to Minister of Agriculture and Environment Phung Duc Tien, by 2030, Vietnam aims to become a leading exporter of high-quality agricultural, forestry, and aquatic products and food, with a strong position in the global supply chain. Based on the Import-Export Strategy for Goods until 2030, the target for agricultural, forestry, and aquatic product exports in the 2026-2030 period is 6-8% per year; assuming no major market fluctuations or sudden impacts from weather or diseases on production, the export value of agricultural, forestry, and aquatic products is projected to reach US$95-100 billion by 2030.

Deputy Minister Phung Duc Tien emphasized that the Ministry will also focus on promoting the domestic consumption market, boosting agricultural product consumption in major cities; coordinating with localities to select and organize rotating industry festivals; maintaining thematic forums connecting agricultural product consumption, prioritizing product groups experiencing declining exports or those at risk of decline due to policy changes in the market; and supporting localities in disseminating information, promoting, and connecting consumption in the domestic market and other potential export markets...

Furthermore, the Ministry will strengthen digital transformation; implement breakthroughs in the application and transfer of science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation. It will effectively implement the Ministry's Action Plan to implement Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024, of the Politburo and the Resolutions of the National Assembly and the Government on breakthroughs in the development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation, helping to strengthen the application of science and technology and digital technology in agricultural and rural production and processing; and develop a modern logistics system serving agriculture and rural areas.
