Truly worthy of the title "Good Child of Uncle Ho"

(QBĐT) - The movement "Quang Binh children compete to follow the 5 teachings of Uncle Ho" is becoming increasingly vibrant and widespread throughout the province, marking many proud achievements and forming a generation of children rich in knowledge, morality, and character.

Outstanding in academics and training.

Phan Tuan Kiet, the head of the student council at Chu Van An Secondary and High School (Dong Hoi City), is a student who has achieved many accomplishments in academic competitions. He has also made a significant mark in student council activities and children's movements.

In 6th grade, Phan Tuan Kiet achieved an IELTS score of 5.0 and demonstrated his English proficiency through intellectual competitions, reaping many high achievements, such as: Second prize in the "Confident Scholar" category at the National English Scholar Festival in 2024; winning prizes in city-level and provincial-level English competitions for gifted students...

He also actively participates in social activities as a team leader in the Youth Union activities and as Vice President of the Quang Binh Provincial Children's Council for the period 2024-2027. Notably, Tuan Kiet was one of the participants in the second mock "Children's Parliament" session in Hanoi in 2024, contributing to bringing the voices, thoughts, and aspirations of Quang Binh children to light on issues related to the protection, care, and education of children.

Phan Tuan Kiet has made many significant contributions to the Youth Union activities and children's movements.

“The teachers and the leaders of the Youth Union always create opportunities for us to develop our talents, express ourselves, and live more responsibly towards the community. Therefore, I always strive to study, train, and actively participate in Youth Union activities to become an exemplary member, worthy of the title ‘Good Child of Uncle Ho’,” Tuan Kiet shared.

Nguyen Ngoc Thuy Tien is currently the Head of the Student Union at Le Ninh Secondary School (Le Thuy District). Thuy Tien has participated in the Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia children's exchange program and is also a student with outstanding academic achievements, such as: Gold medal in the provincial-level Violympic Math competition, first prize in the district and provincial-level English Olympiad... Thuy Tien has become a source of pride for her family, teachers, and friends.

In the 2023-2024 school year, I was honored to receive the Kim Dong Award, which is given by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union to the Central Council of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers Organization, which directly manages, administers, and awards annually to outstanding Young Pioneers members and leaders in Young Pioneers work and children's movements.

Thuy Tien shared: “I am very proud to have contributed a small part to the children's movement in the province. Each activity and program has left me with many valuable lessons, helping me to be more confident and mature every day...”.

Many children have further enhanced the image of youth with their noble and courageous actions. These include Mai Hai Dang, a 6th-grade student at Kim Thuy No. 1 Secondary School (Le Thuy district), who bravely rescued a drowning person; and Dinh Phuong, Dinh Kheo, Dinh Duc, Dinh Ca Ngu, and Dinh Beo from Bo Trach Ethnic Boarding School, who saved two children in distress while crossing a stream. These courageous and selfless acts of saving friends and others are beautiful and touching stories, serving as shining examples that contribute to spreading the spirit of living a beautiful and useful life for the community among the children of Quang Binh .

According to the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union and Chairman of the Provincial Children's Council, Dinh Trung Hieu: “The activities and movements organized by the Provincial Children's Council always aim to create conditions for children to develop comprehensively both physically and mentally, to awaken their creativity, solidarity, and aspirations. Through beneficial playgrounds and competitions, children not only hone their skills and express themselves but also mature in their thinking and character. This is the solid foundation for us to continue innovating and improving the quality and effectiveness of our programs in the future.”

The province currently has over 159,000 members participating in 341 youth groups. Over the past five years (2020-2025), the Provincial Youth Council has consistently focused on implementing numerous highly educational and impactful movements and activities, such as: weekly thematic activity programs attracting over 763,000 children; the "Children's Fun and Healthy Day" and "Advancing Towards the Youth Union" events attracting over 574,000 children; "Partners in Progress" models with over 43,000 pairs and nearly 1,900 study groups; maintaining and effectively developing 637 cultural and artistic clubs; and establishing and maintaining 341 youth propaganda teams, creating opportunities for children to directly contribute their voices to grassroots youth group activities...

Notably, the youth teams actively responded to the "Small Plan" movement with specific activities that educated children about saving money and community spirit; many programs on life skills education, accident and injury prevention, and school violence prevention also received positive responses from a large number of children, thereby building a safe and friendly school environment; extracurricular activities, many youth projects and initiatives truly made an impact and met the needs for safe and healthy learning and play for children...

It can be affirmed that the movement "Quang Binh children emulate the 5 teachings of Uncle Ho" has contributed to educating and shaping a generation of children with morality, intelligence, and character, with the hope of working together to build a more prosperous, beautiful, and civilized Quang Binh homeland.

“During the period 2020-2025, the entire province will have 84 outstanding Young Pioneers who will be honored and awarded the title of “Good Children of Uncle Ho”. This is a well-deserved reward for their training process, and a great source of motivation for children to continue to strive for academic excellence, diligent training, and living with ideals and responsibility. We hope that these exemplary individuals will spread a positive spirit and inspire thousands of other Young Pioneers to strive to be worthy of the title of “Good Children of Uncle Ho,” emphasized Mr. Dinh Trung Hieu.
