At noon on June 25th, Lieutenant Colonel Le Trong Tai, Head of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Thanh Hoa province, stated that the fires have been largely brought under control. However, authorities are maintaining personnel and equipment on standby at the scene, ready to deploy response plans should the fires reignite.

Earlier, in the early afternoon of June 24th, a forest fire broke out in the area of Hill 74, located in the Huu Tai and Huu Nhan residential areas of Hai Binh ward. Immediately after receiving the report, approximately 500 people, including police, military, forest rangers, militia, local authorities, and residents, quickly arrived at the scene and promptly implemented firefighting measures.

However, firefighting efforts faced numerous difficulties as the fire was located on a high hill, in a complex and rugged terrain with many deep ravines, covering a large area, and with poor access. Specialized firefighting vehicles could not reach the scene, forcing authorities to use manual methods to extinguish the fire.

Under prolonged hot weather conditions, high outdoor temperatures, coupled with the heat from the fire, made accessing the scene extremely difficult. The burned forest area mainly consisted of pine and eucalyptus trees along with a thick layer of dry undergrowth, making it highly flammable. In particular, strong southwest winds continuously caused the fire to flare up intensely and spread to neighboring areas multiple times.

In response to the situation, the firefighting forces used chainsaws, blowers, machetes, and various other manual tools to create firebreaks, clear vegetation, isolate fire hotspots, and prevent the fire from spreading.
Throughout the night of June 24th and the early morning of June 25th, police officers and other functional forces remained at the scene, organizing into multiple teams to implement measures to contain and control the fire. Despite extremely difficult working conditions and treacherous terrain, the forces continued to work tirelessly with the determination to quickly bring the fire under complete control.

To ensure safety, authorities organized a remote containment effort, proactively establishing firebreaks to prevent the fire from spreading to other areas. In areas where the fire has been brought under control, officers and soldiers continue to be on duty 24/7, closely monitoring the scene and promptly detecting and addressing any new outbreaks.
For areas where fires were located in low-lying areas, firefighters connected pipelines to bring water to the scene to completely extinguish any remaining embers, while also preventing the fire from spreading due to strong winds and the risk of sparks from other areas.
By noon on June 25th, the major fires on Hill 74 were basically under control. However, the risk of re-igniting remains due to the prolonged hot weather and strong winds. Therefore, the authorities continue to maintain personnel and equipment at the scene, organize patrols and surveillance, and thoroughly deal with any smoldering fires, determined to protect the forest area and people's property.
