Each festival has its own theme and message, such as: "Da Lat Flowers - I Love You", "Da Lat - City of a Thousand Flowers", "Da Lat - City of Flower Festivals", "Central Highlands - Echoes of the Great Forest", "Da Lat Flowers - A Miraculous Crystallization from Fertile Land"...
Da Lat has a 131-year-old tradition of flower cultivation, making it the largest flower conservation and production center in Indochina. Besides the endemic street flowers and wildflowers that abound in this breathtaking mountain town, Da Lat produces nearly 4 billion flower stems of various types each year, serving both domestic and export markets.
In 2004, Da Lat successfully organized its first "Flower Festival," deeply moving the public and tourists from all over. In 2005, it was recognized by the Prime Minister as "Da Lat - Vietnam's Flower Festival City," with the festival held every two years. The first Flower Festival in 2005, themed "Da Lat - A Rendezvous of Flowers," was extremely grand and impressive, attracting over 100,000 visitors to admire and experience it.
Success followed success, and since then, the Da Lat Flower Festival has been held nine times. Each festival has its own theme and message, such as: "Da Lat Flowers - I Love You," "Da Lat - City of a Thousand Flowers," "Da Lat - City of Flower Festivals," "Central Highlands - Echoes of the Great Forest," "Da Lat Flowers - A Miraculous Crystallization from Fertile Land," etc. The purpose of the Flower Festival is to honor the values of flowers, flower growers, flower businesses, attract tourism , call for investment, promote the beautiful image of Da Lat, and develop the brands of Da Lat Flowers, Bao Loc Tea and Silk... to friends both domestically and internationally.
The 10th Da Lat Flower Festival in 2024, themed “Da Lat Flowers – A Symphony of Colors,” is a large-scale cultural and tourism event at the provincial level, aiming for national and international recognition. This cultural and tourism festival aims to promote the culture, people, and tourism of Da Lat – Lam Dong to domestic and international visitors. It further affirms Da Lat's brand as “the Flower Festival City of Vietnam,” a UNESCO Creative City of Music, and one of the Top 5 most impressive festival cities in Asia.
The 10th Da Lat Flower Festival, lasting nearly a month (Opening on December 5th, Closing on December 31st), includes 10 main programs: Opening Ceremony; Artistic program to welcome the New Year 2025 and the Closing Ceremony of the Flower Festival; Flower Space; International Conference “Da Lat, developing green, smart and sustainable tourism”; Artistic program “Bao Loc City: the fragrance of tea and the beauty of silk”; Exhibition promoting OCOP products; Wine, Tea, Coffee and Lam Dong specialties street; Vegetable and Flower Market “Da Lat: a miraculous crystallization from fertile land”; International cultural and artistic exchange between South Korea and Da Lat; Street Carnival of Flowers and Heritage.
The following programs will take place throughout the year: the "Dalat Fun Color" Music Festival; the Lam Dong Trail 2024 race; the Lang Biang Pink Grass Festival; the "Green - Clean - Beautiful" contest; the "5AM Concert in Da Lat" music program; the "Prenn Trail Challenge 2024" race; the "Brilliant Colors of Dalat Flowers" exhibition; the "Bazan Melodies" band festival; and the "Dalat - A Kaleidoscope of Flowers" experiential tour.
The 10th Da Lat Flower Festival is not only a celebration for the people of Lam Dong province, but also a meeting place for tourists from all over to experience the unique cultural and tourism values of Da Lat. Through the festival, the aim is to continue promoting the Da Lat people's character of "Gentle - Elegant - Hospitable," to awaken, spread, and enhance the brand and position of "Da Lat - the Flower Festival City of Vietnam."
