At the ceremony, Mr. Le Khac Hong - Head of the Project Management Board for the construction of Terminal T3 at Tan Son Nhat Airport said that after about 8 months of starting construction, the bidding package for construction and installation of terminal equipment has been completed more than 81% of workload.

Currently, the project implementation progress is being tightly controlled by the investor and contractor to ensure the plan. On the construction site, the contractor consortium mobilized more than 400 vehicles, equipment and nearly 2.000 engineers and workers to deploy a series of items.

“The investor and contractors commit to increase people, increase machinery and equipment, increase construction costs, work "3 shifts, 4 crews", during holidays and holidays to strive to put the project into operation on occasion. April 30 next year, 4 months ahead of schedule compared to the original plan," Mr. Hong emphasized.

According to the investor, when the T3 terminal project is put into operation, it will serve the largest domestic passengers in the country with 20 million people. Together with the existing two stations T1 and T2, this project will contribute to increasing the total operating capacity at Tan Son Nhat airport to 50 million passengers per year.

The T3 passenger terminal construction project is invested by Vietnam Airports Corporation, with a total cost of nearly 11.000 billion VND; designed with a capacity of 20 million passengers/year, 7.000 passengers/peak hour.

Terminal T3 has three main items, including: passenger terminal, high-rise parking garage combined with non-aviation services and viaduct system. In particular, the station has a basement and 4 floors, built on an area of ​​112.500 m2.

The terminal has a linear shape similar to the existing terminal, designed into 2 separate departure and arrival elevations, with 90 traditional airline check-in counters, 20 automatic baggage drop backdrop counters and 42 kiosks. check in, 27 aircraft exit doors (of which 13 are telescopic doors and 14 are bus doors), there are 6 departure baggage processing islands and 10 arrival baggage return islands, 25 passenger security control doors.

The project also has a high-rise garage combined with non-aeronautical services, a complex of 2 basement floors, 4 above-ground floors and a 3-story above-ground motorbike parking block connected to each other by a bridge corridor, total area Construction floor is 130.000m2.

To improve the efficiency of the project when put into operation, Ho Chi Minh City is also implementing and preparing to deploy many projects connected to this station.

Currently, the project connecting Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa, more than 4km long, is being implemented synchronously outside with a total investment of more than 4.800 billion VND. This project is expected to be completed by the end of 2024. In addition to connecting T3 station, it will break the unique position of Truong Son road leading to and from the airport, helping to reduce congestion in the area.
