Major General Nguyen Xuan Thuy, Deputy Director of the Propaganda Department, General Political Department of the Vietnam People's Army, said that the Vietnamese delegation will be led by General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense; the Chinese delegation will be led by the Minister of National Defense of China.
According to Major General Nguyen Xuan Thuy, the exchange activities include: welcoming ceremonies for the Vietnamese and Chinese delegations; the Vietnamese delegation will visit the Huu Nghi Quan tourist area, the Huu Nghi border gate border guard company, and Primary School No. 4 in Bang Tuong City (Guangxi); and visit the border area cultural village; the Chinese delegation will visit Dong Dang Primary School, the Huu Nghi International Border Gate Post, hold talks, and witness the signing of cooperation documents between the two countries' armies...
Vietnam sends its most modern missile frigate for exchange with China.
Notably, as part of this series of activities, the defense ministers of the two countries will witness a joint patrol in the Gulf of Tonkin. This is a new feature of this year's exchange, and also the first time the Vietnamese Navy has participated in a Vietnam-China border defense exchange.

Lieutenant Colonel Cao Van Dan, in charge of the Editor-in-Chief of the Naval Newspaper , said that as part of the framework program of the "9th Vietnam-China Border Defense Friendship Exchange," the Vietnamese Navy and the Southern Theater Command Navy of the People's Liberation Army of China will conduct joint patrols in the Gulf of Tonkin. This is the 38th patrol between the navies of the two countries.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Dan, Vietnam will send the missile frigates 015 Tran Hung Dao and 016 Quang Trung to visit and engage in exchanges with the Chinese navy, in accordance with the mechanism agreed upon by both sides for many years.
These are the two most modern warships of the Vietnam Navy, and this is also the first time they have participated in joint patrols in the Gulf of Tonkin. According to the plan, tomorrow morning, April 10th, the two ships will leave Cam Ranh naval port for Bac Ha naval port (Guangxi, China) to conduct exchanges, followed by joint patrol activities.

The missile frigate's journey from Cam Ranh to China will take place from April 10-13. It will arrive at Bac Ha port on April 13. After the exchange, the Vietnamese fleet will return home, and the return journey will include long-distance sea training from the Gulf of Tonkin back to Cam Ranh.
Lieutenant Colonel Cao Van Dan informed that the exchange and patrol activities will take place from April 10 to 19, including eight main activities: deploying a fleet of ships from Cam Ranh to Bac Ha port; the Chinese Navy holding a welcoming ceremony for the Vietnamese delegation at Bac Ha military port; the navies of the two countries will exchange command of their fleets; sports exchanges between officers and sailors of the two delegations...
"This is an important political task, contributing to enriching and deepening friendly exchanges in border defense. In addition, it makes the coordination between the Vietnamese and Chinese navies increasingly substantive and effective," Lieutenant Colonel Dan emphasized.
