On December 20th, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ngai province announced that the total number of tourists visiting the locality in 2025 is estimated to reach approximately 5.2 million, an increase of 38% compared to 2024. Revenue from tourism activities is expected to reach approximately 3,700 billion VND, an increase of 74%.

Notably, the number of international visitors to Quang Ngai reached approximately 98,500, a 2.6-fold increase compared to the same period last year. Foreign exchange earnings from tourism are estimated at 22 million USD, a 2.5-fold increase, making a significant contribution to the local economic and service sector growth.
According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, tourist destinations in the province continue to attract a large number of visitors. In the western region, community-based tourism villages and the Mang Den eco-tourism area have become popular choices thanks to their cool climate, pristine natural landscapes, and unique local cultural experiences.
Meanwhile, the eastern coastal and island areas, such as Ly Son, Sa Huynh, and My Khe, continue to be attractive destinations thanks to their scenic coastal landscapes, long-standing cultural heritage, and distinctive cuisine. Tourism products linked to experiencing and exploring local nature and culture are increasingly in line with the tourism trends favored by both domestic and international tourists.
Commenting on these results, Ms. Pham Thi Trung, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ngai province, said that the strong growth of tourism in 2025 stems from many factors. In particular, the expansion of tourism development space after the province's merger has created more room, bringing a new look and new appeal to destinations.
This is coupled with the effectiveness of policies to attract investment, improve the quality of tourism products, enhance promotional activities, and improve transportation infrastructure and services.

"Quang Ngai tourism is gradually establishing its brand and creating a clearer position on the regional tourism map. In particular, the local people are increasingly becoming the center of tourism activities, directly participating in providing services, preserving cuisine, festivals, and traditional crafts. This contributes to preserving cultural identity while also increasing income for the local community," Ms. Trung emphasized.
According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Quang Ngai will continue to implement comprehensive solutions to make tourism a key economic sector. The focus will be on completing planning and investing in infrastructure in key areas such as Ly Son, Sa Huynh, My Khe, Mang Den, and Ngoc Linh; developing distinctive and competitive tourism products; promoting digital transformation and advertising on digital platforms; and developing community-based tourism linked to sustainable cultural preservation.
