22 excellent works won the 16th "Simple but Noble Examples" Writing Contest

On the morning of September 25, in Hanoi, the People's Army Newspaper; the Press-Publishing Department, the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; the People's Army Publishing House and the North Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank organized the closing ceremony and award ceremony of the 16th "Simple but Noble Examples" Writing Contest, launching the 17th Contest.

The Organizing Committee honored the authors and characters in the A prize-winning works.

The 16th writing contest (launched from December 5, 2024 and accepting entries until July 31, 2025) attracted the participation of many authors, both professional and non-professional writers, across the country, many of which were carefully invested, presented vividly, attractively and highly persuasively.

Through two rounds of judging by the Preliminary and Final Jury, the Organizing Committee selected 22 best works to award to authors and groups of authors, including: 3 A prizes (each prize worth 30 million VND), 3 B prizes (each prize worth 20 million VND); 4 C prizes (each prize worth 10 million VND) and 12 Encouragement prizes (each prize worth 5 million VND). The Organizing Committee also awarded Certificates of Honor, Souvenir Cups and cash prizes (10 million VND) to each character in the 22 winning works.

3 A prizes were awarded to: Author group Pham Van Tuan, Tong Thi Hai Ly with the work "Journalist Ha Dang - a giant of Vietnam's revolutionary journalism"; author Nguyen Thi Huong with the work "General Nguyen Huy Hieu - A simple general and a life of dedication"; author group Nguyen Manh Thang, Duong Thi Thu Hoa with the work "Missile girl".

Following the success of the 16th Writing Contest, at the ceremony, Major General Doan Xuan Bo, Editor-in-Chief of the People's Army Newspaper, Head of the Contest Organizing Committee, launched the 17th Writing Contest "Simple but Noble Examples".

The rules of the 17th Competition will be published in the People's Army Newspaper and other press agencies immediately after the launching ceremony. The closing and award ceremony of the 17th Competition is expected to be held in October 2026.

The Organizing Committee hopes to continue to receive the attention and direction of the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense , the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; the companionship of agencies, units, businesses and especially the response from journalists, writers, collaborators, readers nationwide - those who write to spread good things, contributing to making society more humane and better.
