234 major projects across the country were simultaneously launched and inaugurated.

(gialai.gov.vn) – To commemorate the 79th anniversary of the National Resistance Day (December 19, 1946 - December 19, 2025) and in anticipation of the 14th National Congress of the Party, on the morning of December 19, ceremonies were held to simultaneously commence construction, inaugurate, and open to traffic 234 typical infrastructure projects nationwide.

The groundbreaking and inauguration ceremonies were held simultaneously in a hybrid format, combining in-person and online participation, at 79 locations across provinces and cities. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended and directed the ceremony at the central location for the groundbreaking of the Olympic Sports Urban Area project (Thuong Phuc commune, Hanoi).

At the Gia Lai provincial location, the Provincial People's Committee held the groundbreaking ceremony for the Quy Nhon - Pleiku Expressway Construction Project, Component Project 1: the section from Km0+000 to Km22+000.

Attending the meeting via video link from the province were Comrade Ho Quoc Dung – Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Deputy Prime Minister , and representatives from central ministries and agencies.

Representing Gia Lai province were: Comrade Thai Dai Ngoc – Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; former provincial leaders from various periods; leaders of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, Provincial People's Council, Provincial People's Committee, and Provincial Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; and leaders of provincial departments, agencies, and localities.

According to a report by the Ministry of Construction, 234 construction projects nationwide are eligible for commencement, inauguration, and technical opening to traffic, distributed across 34 provinces and cities. Of these, 148 projects have commenced construction, and 86 projects have been inaugurated or are technically open to traffic. The total investment for these projects exceeds 3.4 trillion VND, of which 96 projects use state capital totaling over 627,000 billion VND (approximately 18% of the total), while the remaining 138 projects use other sources of capital totaling over 2.79 trillion VND, accounting for 82% of the total investment.

Speaking at the groundbreaking and inauguration ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed gratitude for the leadership and guidance of the Central Committee, and especially the Politburo and the Secretariat, headed by the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong in the past and General Secretary To Lam today; the involvement of the entire political system; the support and active participation of the people and the business community; and the cooperation and assistance of international friends. At the same time, the Prime Minister acknowledged and commended the efforts and determination of ministries, departments, localities, investors, contractors, consulting units, workers, and engineers on construction sites – the “soldiers” on a battlefield without gunfire, but who must win, striving and working day and night on projects with the spirit of “overcoming the sun, conquering the rain, not losing to storms and winds”, “3 shifts, 4 teams”, “eating quickly, sleeping urgently”, “working during the day is not enough, working at night”, “working day, working night, working on holidays”… The sweat, even blood and tears, sleepless nights, working through holidays and Tet on construction sites, “offices with lights on”… have crystallized into projects that create the development of the country, bringing practical benefits to the people.

The Prime Minister commended and highly appreciated the proactive, responsible, and decisive actions of ministries, sectors, and localities in resolving and removing institutional and policy barriers and difficulties. He also expressed deep gratitude to the people who were willing to relinquish land, relocate, and resettle, accepting immediate losses to build infrastructure for the future of the country and for themselves. The Prime Minister also extended his heartfelt thanks to domestic and foreign businesses that have trusted and invested in a prosperous, self-reliant Vietnam with the spirit of "harmonious benefits, shared risks."

According to the Prime Minister, in 2026 and beyond, in order to successfully achieve the two centenary strategic goals, the Party and State have set the target of striving for double-digit growth, in which the development of socio-economic infrastructure continues to be clearly identified as one of the three strategic breakthroughs.

The Government and the Prime Minister request that all levels, sectors, localities, and relevant agencies and units continue to further promote the achievements made, strive to overcome difficulties and challenges, with the spirit of "if we have tried, we should try even harder; if we have united, we should unite even more; if we have been determined, we should be even more determined; if we have been effective, we should be even more effective"; focusing on implementing the "5 guarantees" in investment and development of socio-economic infrastructure projects, including: ensuring a transparent institutional framework, smooth infrastructure, smart governance, common practices, and cooperative understanding; ensuring resources, material supply, progress, and quality of projects; ensuring the progress of land clearance, resettlement, and stable living conditions for the people, with new housing better than or equal to their old housing; ensuring improved efficiency in capital utilization, preventing cost overruns, corruption, negative practices, losses, and waste; Ensuring that investments are made effectively, bringing tangible benefits to the people and promoting rapid and sustainable socio-economic development.

Furthermore, the Government and the Prime Minister are committed to continuing to play a central role in creating, supporting, and facilitating the most favorable conditions for the synchronized and effective implementation of projects, especially key projects, ensuring they are completed on schedule, with quality, safety, technical and aesthetic standards, and environmental protection in accordance with the law.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh awarded the Third-Class Labor Medal to units that had directly participated in key national projects.
