The commander of Waterway Police Team No. 2 (Hanoi Traffic Police Department) stated: "Through verification, the authorities have determined that the information about a mother and her four children committing suicide on Dong Tru Bridge (Long Bien, Hanoi) is inaccurate. After mobilizing search forces starting at 5 am, we have now withdrawn all forces."

According to the Commander of Water Police Team No. 2, due to marital conflict, the wife "threatened her husband": "Arguments or disagreements in families are unavoidable. People need to remain calm, especially before taking any action. Today's incident has wasted the time and effort of many people."

Many forces were mobilized to search for the victims.
Previously, images of a car and information about four pairs of sandals on Dong Tru Bridge appeared on social media. The person who posted the information claimed that a woman and three children had left a suicide note (suspected of jumping off the bridge), detailing a stressful life and a desire to escape her husband.

The incident attracted a lot of curious onlookers.

Shortly after, in the early morning of March 1st, authorities in Long Bien district and the Hanoi City Traffic Police Department received a report that a car, along with four pairs of sandals (for both adults and children) and a suicide note, were found on Dong Tru Bridge (Long Bien district), raising suspicions that a mother and her four children had jumped off the bridge to commit suicide. Upon receiving the information, the relevant units mobilized dozens of people to participate in the search.
