5 candidates violated the regulations.

On the afternoon of June 6th, in an interview with VTC News , Mr. Ho Tan Minh, Chief of the Office of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, stated that on the first day of the 2023-2024 public high school entrance exam, there were 5 cases of exam regulation violations.

Specifically, two candidates arrived 20 minutes late at 8:20 AM, therefore the Head of the examination center did not allow them to take the exam according to regulations.

Two candidates violated exam regulations (bringing mobile phones into the exam room). The invigilators suspended them from the exam, drew up a report, confiscated the phones, and handed them over to security for inspection. It was confirmed that no exam questions were sent outside the examination room.

In one instance, a candidate was found using unauthorized materials in the examination room; the materials were confiscated, and a warning was issued as a disciplinary action.

All exam rules and regulations were explained by the exam officials during the registration process, yet the students still violated them. These candidates will not be eligible for admission to grade 10.

Mr. Ho Tan Minh provided further information regarding the number of absent candidates on the first day of the exam.

For the Literature subject, out of 96,334 registered candidates, 95,969 participated this morning (June 6th), with 375 absent.

For the Foreign Language subject, 96,334 candidates registered to take the exam; however, statistics show that 383 were absent.

Tomorrow, June 7th, candidates will take the Mathematics exam, which lasts 120 minutes, and the specialized/integrated subject exam, which lasts 150 minutes (if the candidate registered for a specialized or integrated school/class).
