5 million tourists visit Binh Dinh

According to the Department of Tourism , the number of visitors to Binh Dinh in 2023 reached 5 million, an increase of 21.4% compared to 2022, with total revenue reaching 16,400 billion VND.

Binh Dinh is one of the provinces with a stable number of tourists nationwide. Of the 5 million visitors, the province welcomed 80,000 international tourists. The largest revenue sources were food and beverage, reaching over 5.2 trillion VND, followed by accommodation at 4.7 trillion VND, and sightseeing and entertainment at 2.6 trillion VND. The remaining revenue came from travel agency activities, transportation, and other services.

According to the Department of Tourism, this is a positive result, stemming from the province's continuous research and development of new tourism products and the revitalization of existing ones. Binh Dinh has also implemented many festival programs, collaborative activities, and promotional and marketing efforts with airlines, travel agencies, and major tourism corporations. A prime example is the 2023 Binh Dinh Tourism Festival with the theme "Quy Nhon - A Sea Paradise - A Vibrant Color." The music festival alone attracted 40,000 participants, a threefold increase compared to 2022.

Binh Dinh has also become a destination for a series of large-scale events. The VnExpress Marathon Sparkling Quy Nhon attracted 11,000 athletes along with tens of thousands of relatives and family members to the coastal city for tourism and sports at the beginning of summer. Other notable activities include the Miss World Vietnam competition, the international hot air balloon festival, the Central Vietnam Ethnic Culture Festival, the international sailing competition, etc.

In 2024, the province aims to welcome 5.5 million tourists, generating 18,000 billion VND in pure tourism revenue. The locality anticipates an increase in international visitors, especially with the agreement to resume direct flights from Incheon (South Korea) to Quy Nhon from the beginning of 2024. Two international water sports events, the F1 H20 motorboat race and the Aquabike professional jet ski race, are expected to attract a large number of international tourists to Binh Dinh in early 2024.

In addition, the locality continues its activities to promote tourism and introduce products to other provinces and cities such as Hanoi , Ho Chi Minh City, and Can Tho, with the hope of attracting domestic tourists from these dynamic cities.

Binh Dinh province, centered around Quy Nhon city, is considered one of the most beautiful coastal paradises in South Central Vietnam. The province boasts numerous geographical advantages and possesses a series of scenic spots such as Ky Co, Eo Gió, Hai Giang, and Nhon Ly, with over 130 km of coastline. Visitors can experience various types of beach tourism, including snorkeling to admire coral reefs, exploring fishing villages, and trying various water sports. This locality is also the ancient capital of Champa culture, the cradle of the Tay Son dynasty, traditional martial arts, and a rich culture of poetry and music.

Besides beach tourism, this locality is expanding new types of tourism associated with rural and mountainous areas. Localities like An Lão, with their rich natural landscapes, vast forests, and rich indigenous cultures, are expected to become attractive tourist destinations in the future. Binh Dinh's cuisine is diverse with many famous dishes such as banh it la gai (sticky rice cake wrapped in thorny leaves), banh xeo tom nhay (shrimp pancake), banh hoi chao long (rice vermicelli with pork offal porridge), etc.
