8,000 athletes compete in VnExpress Marathon Hue season 4

Thousands of VM Hue athletes began their journey to conquer the revamped race course and enjoy the beauty of the ancient capital, starting at 3:00 AM on April 21st.

The VnExpress Marathon Hue 2024 will start at 3:00 AM on April 21st in the Le Duan Street area, near Phu Van Lau. This is the fourth time the race has come to the ancient capital, attracting 8,000 athletes. Along the main route running along the romantic Perfume River, the 42km race will start earliest, at 3:00 AM. The 21km race will start at 4:00 AM; the 10km race at 4:45 AM; and the 5km race at 5:00 AM.

This is one of the most important and largest sporting events in Thua Thien Hue province. To attract more people, the race route has been completely revamped, with a focus on the route towards Dap Da Bridge – connecting the bustling city center with the peaceful Vy Da ward. The race still passes through many famous landmarks such as the Imperial Citadel, Truong Tien Bridge, Hue National High School, etc.

Runners participating in VM Hue will enjoy a diverse range of amenities. Along the race route are 21 water stations providing filtered water, electrolytes, bananas, watermelons, ice, etc. The distance between each station is 1.5 - 2.5km. 51 doctors and nurses from the Thua Thien - Hue 115 Emergency Center will ensure the health and safety of runners, stationed at 10 fixed medical stations and 6 mobile stations.
