The song Vietnamese Traditions , composed by Ai Nhan and set to poetry by Chi Anh, expresses the pride and patriotism of the Vietnamese people throughout the history of building and defending the country. In the song, historical sites such as Ai Chi Lang, Bach Dang Giang and the work Hich Tuong Si… are mentioned with pride.
Notably, the familiar line in the heroic epic Proclamation of the Generals was performed by the young male singer with a confident opera voice, making the work more heroic and easy to feel: "I often forget to eat at mealtimes, pounding my pillow at midnight, my stomach aches like it's being cut, tears streaming down my face; Only anger can't make me tear apart the flesh, peel off the skin, eat the liver, and drink the blood of the enemy...".
At the launch of the MV Vietnamese Tradition by singer Duong Minh Quy, People's Artist Quoc Hung - Director of the Vietnam National Academy of Music shared: "The song Vietnamese Tradition is a difficult work, because it is built on folk and chamber music materials. The singer who performs this song must have a very strong inner strength to be able to portray the work. In particular, the song also has poetic lyrics that are like proclamations, requiring the singer to have endurance and inner strength to convey the right spirit" , People's Artist Quoc Hung said.
People's Artist Quoc Hung also revealed that the song "Vietnamese Tradition" was composed by musician Dao Nguyen Vu (Minh Quy's teacher) and was cherished for 8 years. Initially, he proposed recording it with the choir of the Conservatory of Music to maximize the value of the instrumental music, but musician Dao Nguyen Vu decided to dedicate this work to his student in his first MV.

" As a teacher at the Vietnam National Conservatory of Music, I really admire the young people, they dare to do and dare to take responsibility," he said.
Sharing about choosing to release the MV close to the National Day on September 2, Duong Minh Quy said he always wanted to create a music product to pay tribute to those who came before him, while also reminding his generation of the responsibility to preserve and promote tradition.
"On the occasion of the great festival, I think it's time for me to be mature enough to make a music video product with many messages and meanings to join the flow of national pride," he said.
