Who is the youngest new professor in 2024?

After many rounds of review, the State Council of Professors announced a list of 615 qualified candidates for the title of professor and associate professor in 2024 from 27 fields and interdisciplinary fields. Of these, 45 are professor candidates and 570 are associate professor candidates.

Candidate Hoang Le Truong (born in 1984, from Giao Tien commune, Giao Thuy district, Nam Dinh province) became the youngest new professor to be qualified for the title of professor this year. He was considered for the title of professor in Mathematics, currently working at the Institute of Mathematics, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology.

The new professor graduated with a bachelor's degree in Mathematics, majoring in Algebra and Number Theory from the University of Natural Sciences ( Hanoi ) in 2006; in 2009, he received a master's degree in Mathematics, majoring in Algebra and Number Theory from Thai Nguyen University.

In 2013, he received his PhD in Mathematics from Meiji University, Japan. On January 15, 2020, he was recognized as an associate professor of Mathematics.

Mr. Hoang Le Truong has worked at the Institute of Mathematics, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology since 2006, as a researcher, then as a senior researcher and then as a senior researcher.

Besides, he also worked as a guest lecturer at a number of highereducation institutions such as University of Technology (Hanoi); Thai Nguyen University of Education; Academy of Science and Technology, VAST.

The main research directions of the youngest new professor include: Commutative Algebra, Computer Algebra and Applications; Algebraic Geometry and Applications.

Up to now, Mr. Hoang Le Truong has completed 4 scientific research topics at the ministerial level as the project leader, including: "Irreducible analysis: structure and application", "Monomial and binomial ideals: Combinations, singular geometry and applications", "Computer-assisted proofs: Some invariants of manifolds and some problems on rational monomers", "On the classification of algebraic manifolds". He has also published 1 monograph and 1 textbook.

Mr. Hoang Le Truong owns 30 scientific articles published in prestigious international journals, of which 18 articles are published in journals in group Q1.

Previously, in 2023, the three youngest people recognized as meeting the standards for the title of professor, all born in 1984 (39 years old at the time of recognition of meeting the standards for the title), were: Tran Xuan Bach, professor of Medicine; Nguyen Dai Hai, professor of Chemistry and Doan Thai Son, professor of Mathematics.
