The youngest professor in 2025 is only 39 years old, and is the vice director at Foreign Trade University.

Born in 1986, Mr. Tran Quoc Trung is from Nam Phuoc town, Duy Xuyen district, Quang Nam province (old).

Immediately after graduating from Foreign Trade University, he was retained to teach at the school. From a young lecturer, he gradually took on many important management positions such as Deputy Head of Professional Department, Head of Professional Department.

Since April 2020, at the age of 34, he was appointed Deputy Director of Campus II, Foreign Trade University, Ho Chi Minh City.

Mr. Tran Quoc Trung was well-trained in leading educational environments in the country and internationally. He graduated with a Bachelor of Foreign Economics (Foreign Trade University, 2008); Master of Business Administration (Foreign Trade University, 2011); Master of Law, Economics and Management - majoring in Banking and Finance (Lille 2 University, France, 2012); and Doctor of Management Science (Lille 2 University, 2017).

In 2020, at the age of 34, he was recognized as an associate professor of Economics.

To date, Mr. Tran Quoc Trung has published 76 scientific articles, of which 35 are published in prestigious international journals (24 articles in the SSCI category, 11 articles in Scopus/ESCI); 27 articles in which he is the main or sole author; 14 international articles were published after he was recognized as an associate professor. In addition, he has 40 domestic articles and 1 international article online.

He is the author and co-author of 8 books, including 2 monographs (1 written in full, 1 written in 4 chapters), 1 textbook and 5 monographs published by prestigious publishers. He is also the head of 1 national-level project, 1 Nafosted Fund project, 1 grassroots project and 1 technology transfer project to enterprises.

“After being recognized as an associate professor, I continued to deepen my professional knowledge, support colleagues and students in scientific research, and contribute to improving the school's training quality,” Mr. Tran Quoc Trung shared in his profile.

During his 16 years of work, he has always maintained the moral qualities, prestige and sense of responsibility of a teacher. He respects his colleagues, treats students fairly and strictly abides by the regulations of the education sector as well as of the school.

He has taught at both undergraduate and graduate levels and has been accredited by the University of New Brunswick (Canada) and the University of Bedfordshire (UK) for teaching standards in international joint programs. His teaching methods aim to promote critical thinking, creativity and initiative in learners.

During the two years 2023-2024, student groups guided by him achieved many outstanding achievements: Second Prize at the Ministry level at the "Science and Technology Award for University Students"; 2 First Prizes at the School level at the "Student Scientific Research" competition.

He also accompanied young lecturers and students to publish many articles at home and abroad, contributing to building a dynamic academic environment at Foreign Trade University, Ho Chi Minh City Campus II.

Mr. Tran Quoc Trung always considers scientific research and technology transfer as the core part of university teaching activities. He actively conducts many research topics at all levels, actively publishes monographs for training and expands international academic cooperation.

In his role as Deputy Director of Campus II, he is in charge of training and scientific management, participating in policy planning, developing training programs and improving the research quality of Foreign Trade University.

In 2025, the country will have 900 more people meeting the standards of professors and associate professors, of which 71 will meet the standards of professors and 829 will meet the standards of associate professors. This number includes both Military Science and Security Science.
