Singer Tung Duong introduces a special music product The Voice - Timeless in vinyl format. This is a collection of immortal love songs of Vietnamese music, meticulously and carefully produced as a meaningful musical gift for the audience who have loved Tung Duong's voice for over 20 years.
In his nearly two-decade singing career, Tung Duong has always been mentioned as an artist who constantly explores and innovates. But amidst the flow of technology and modern trends, he chose to return to the rustic, pure sound of vinyl records - a musical hobby that is both luxurious and requires perfection.

Make vinyl records to show gratitude, not nostalgia
Tung Duong said that although previous albums such as Human or Multiverse were also released in vinyl format, it was only a converted version to serve fans. With the new album The Voice - Timeless , he and musician Hong Kien decided to make a publication that was recorded, processed and produced specifically for vinyl format.
"Making vinyl records is an expensive and elaborate hobby. From equipment, speakers, players to recording techniques - everything must meet high standards. But what I aim for is not to show off class but original emotions, a way for music to be respected and listened to in the most complete way," the male singer shared.
According to him, vinyl records are a means to help artists "slow down", to listen to every vibration of the voice, every breath of the instrument - elements that digital technology can easily flatten.

Talking about his direction, Tung Duong said that his artistic path has always been guided by two parallel factors: creativity and honor.
"Every year I set different goals, one year of creativity - one year of honor. Last year, when the country celebrated A50 and A80, I chose to sing many red songs and folk songs to pay tribute to the musicians of the previous generation. Next year may be a new stage, more youthful and experimental," he said.
Tung Duong affirmed that this vinyl project is not for nostalgia but is his way of expressing gratitude to those who wrote immortal works: "I want to pay tribute and honor, not copy or innovate to show off technique. For me, singing Trinh Cong Son, Pham Duy, Phu Quang's music... is to send back a thank you."

Will the male singer use artificial intelligence (AI) in upcoming music projects? With this question, Tung Duong affirmed that he does not oppose technology but does not accept AI replacing human emotions.
"I used to incorporate electronic elements in Li ti or Human - Multiverse more than 10 years ago. I always welcome technology, but only in a supporting role, not as a replacement. Music must come from the heart, from the true intelligence of people," he emphasized.
According to Tung Duong, letting AI compose or sing instead of artists can create technical perfection but lose the soul of the music.
"When everything is perfect and emotionless, what is there left for art to move me to? I just want the audience to hear real singing and real emotions," Tung Duong said.
In response to the comment that he is gradually becoming gentler and more approachable compared to his original eccentric and thorny image, Tung Duong laughed: "Actually, I'm not trying to change to be different, it's just that in each stage, I want to show different sides of myself. The genre of music is not important - what's important is that I sing with all my soul and exploit its spirit to the fullest."

As a companion with Tung Duong in the new product, musician Hong Kien revealed that during the 6 months of making the disc, he listened to it continuously but now listening to it again, he still finds it "fresh and profound". As a producer, I am very honored and proud of that.
''Recording this album with Tung Duong, I have great memories. First of all, it took a lot of work, the arrangement was thick, the string section was very crowded, the emotional climax was very big. Tung Duong was busy, so it was very difficult to arrange the time to record. Every time we finished recording, we sat and listened, like contemplating life.
As for the song Ru ta ngam ngui , I like strong, climax-filled things, so the first mix had that color, but when we got to the studio and heard it, Tung Duong jumped up and said, "You can't mix it like that" and asked for a lighter mix. The second time, I mixed it in a medium but still thick way, I liked it and was proud, but after Tung Duong heard it, he made a mess.
The third time I was so angry that I immediately made a very sparse, most refined version possible, Tung Duong smiled happily. In the process of making art, we understand each other but there are still things that need to be argued, even fiercely because we want to bring in the most refined things and more importantly, the most suitable for the music format. The highest goal is to have the sound that researchers call cosmic sound, the best of this product.
Also according to musician Hong Kien, during the process of making this disc, Tung Duong sacrificed and also used many tricks because if the "live" recording deviated a little, it would have to be re-recorded, which was very laborious. "Standing in one place singing, not dancing is not an easy thing. I told Tung Duong, actually, we have known each other for a long time, and there were youth music projects, making music quickly "show up", but I was never called, but when it was difficult, no one accepted, and the bones were remembered. Maybe he wanted to challenge me in terms of level and understanding."
