Can Tho inaugurates the 2026 Tet Military-Civilian Festival.
On the morning of January 30th, at Cai Rang Floating Market, the Can Tho City Military-Civilian Tet Organizing Committee held the opening ceremony of the 2026 Military-Civilian Tet with the theme "Celebrating the glorious Party, celebrating the Year of the Horse; the Party's meaning and the people's hearts enter a new era".
The opening ceremony took place in a solemn and joyful atmosphere with spectacular cultural performances celebrating the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Party (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2026) and the successful conclusion of the 14th National Congress of the Party. The meticulously staged program vividly portrayed the vibrant culture of Can Tho's waterways, recreating lively folk festivals rich in the identity of the Southern region, contributing to promoting the image, people, and tourism potential of Can Tho to friends both domestically and internationally.
The main activities of the Tet (Lunar New Year) celebration between the military and civilians took place from January 30th to February 1st in seven localities, including Cai Rang and Hung Phu wards, and Truong Long, Phung Hiep, Hoa Tu, Vinh Hai, and Cu Lao Dung communes. These activities included free medical examinations, treatment, and medication distribution for the poor; gift giving to families receiving social welfare benefits and those in difficult circumstances; awarding scholarships and bicycles to underprivileged students who excelled academically; building and repairing houses of gratitude, solidarity houses, and houses of camaraderie; constructing and upgrading rural roads and bridges; and installing lighting systems, contributing to the construction of new rural areas and ensuring social welfare, bringing the people a Tet celebration filled with the spirit of the military and civilians.
The city's armed forces, in coordination with various organizations, organized cultural, artistic, and sports activities; folk games; competitions in wrapping and cooking banh tet and banh it (traditional Vietnamese rice cakes), making traditional cakes, and displaying products...
Colonel Pham Ngoc Quang, Political Commissar of the City Military Command, emphasized that 2026 marks the 20th year that Can Tho has organized the Tet (Lunar New Year) celebration for the military and civilians, a typical model of "effective civilian mobilization" imbued with profound humanistic values every time Tet and Spring arrive. The Organizing Committee held the opening and closing ceremonies at Cai Rang Floating Market, a national intangible cultural heritage site. This is also a famous tourist destination of the city, contributing to honoring the riverine culture of the Mekong Delta, promoting river tourism, and contributing to the preservation and promotion of the city's outstanding intangible cultural values.
Springtime of Love for Needy Patients
On the afternoon of January 30th, the Youth Union and the Social Work Department of Khanh Hoa General Hospital, in collaboration with other organizations, held the "Spring of Love" program, bringing music to the hospital to create a joyful atmosphere for patients to celebrate the Lunar New Year.
The organizers donated 100 gift packages, each worth 300,000 VND, to underprivileged patients receiving treatment at the hospital. Patients enjoyed traditional folk melodies, various musical performances, and circus acts. The organizers also provided free haircuts and hair washing services for the patients.
Ms. Le Thi Hong L. has been receiving dialysis treatment at Khanh Hoa Provincial General Hospital for the past two years. She was delighted to receive gifts and free haircuts and hair washes from the young volunteers, as she had been suffering from hand pain for the past week and was unable to wash her own hair.
Mr. Nguyen Vu Chuong, Director of Khanh Hoa Provincial General Hospital, through the program "Spring of Love - Bringing Music to the Hospital," contributed to sharing difficulties, encouraging patients' spirits during the days leading up to Tet (Lunar New Year), spreading love, community responsibility, and the beautiful image of Khanh Hoa's youth in social welfare work. The hospital leadership hopes that each staff member and medical employee will continue to uphold the spirit of work and patient care. Patients, in turn, should consider the hospital their home, feel secure following the doctor's instructions and treatment plan for a speedy recovery.
Currently, Khanh Hoa Provincial General Hospital is providing inpatient treatment to approximately 1,400 patients. It is expected that in the days leading up to Tet (Lunar New Year), the hospital will have an additional 500 inpatients. Throughout the Tet holiday, the hospital will increase its staff to ensure that all shifts are available to provide healthcare for the public. From now until before Tet, the hospital will organize two additional programs: "Free Tet Booths" and "Charity Buses for Tet" to support patients and medical staff in celebrating the Lunar New Year.
"Tet Reunion - Spring of Gratitude to the Party" for workers in Bac Ninh
The Bac Ninh Provincial Federation of Labor, in collaboration with Luxshare ICT Co., Ltd. (Van Trung Industrial Park, Bac Ninh Province), organized the "Tet Reunion - Spring of Gratitude to the Party" program in 2026.
At the event, workers participated in many meaningful and practical activities, contributing to a warm and joyful Tet atmosphere right at the enterprise, such as: cultural exchanges, folk games, fruit platter arrangement competitions… These activities were organized to create a healthy playground for workers to relax after stressful working days, while strengthening the bond between workers and the Trade Union and the enterprise.
Speaking at the event, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee, Mai Son, extended New Year wishes for peace, happiness, and success to all officials, workers, and employees; emphasizing that in 2025, Bac Ninh province had basically completed its socio-economic development goals and tasks; and its economic scale continued to maintain its position among the leading localities nationwide.
The Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province acknowledged and praised the positive contributions of businesses in the area in maintaining production, creating jobs, and increasing income for workers; while also paying attention to organizing trade union activities, caring for the material and spiritual lives of workers, actively participating in social welfare activities, contributing to ensuring social stability and sustainable development of the locality.
Mr. Mai Son expressed his hope that Luxshare ICT Co., Ltd. would continue to pay attention to and effectively implement policies for its employees, building a safe, stable, and harmonious working environment. He also requested that the company's trade union effectively fulfill its role in representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of its members and workers. He urged employees to continue striving for creative work, improving their skills, adhering to company regulations and labor discipline, and remaining committed to the company in the long term, helping it overcome difficulties and develop efficient production and business.
Affirming that the province always considers the development of businesses as an important driving force for growth, the Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province pledged to continue to support and create favorable conditions for businesses to invest and expand production with confidence; thereby contributing to improving the lives of workers and promoting the socio-economic development of the province.
On this occasion, the leaders of Bac Ninh province presented 190 gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances (worth 1.3 million VND each). The Trade Union of Luxshare ICT Co., Ltd. (Van Trung) also presented 85 gifts to union members in need (worth 2.65 million VND each). These gifts demonstrate the timely care and support of the trade union and the enterprise; contributing to motivating workers to work with peace of mind and long-term commitment to the company.
Luxshare ICT Co., Ltd. (Van Trung Industrial Park) is a foreign-invested enterprise operating in the field of manufacturing electronic components and equipment. It currently employs over 29,000 workers, with an average income of approximately 11 million VND per person per month. In recent years, while maintaining stable production and business operations, the company has consistently collaborated closely with the Trade Union to implement numerous activities aimed at improving the material and spiritual well-being of its employees, especially during holidays and Tet (Lunar New Year). Thanks to these efforts, the company is one of 28 units nationwide honored by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor as a "Typical Enterprise for Workers in 2025".
Vinh Long: Heartwarming "Trade Union Year-End Dinner"
The Vinh Long Provincial Federation of Labor, in coordination with the Management Board and the Executive Committee of the Trade Union of Ty Bach Limited Company (Binh Minh Industrial Park), organized the "Trade Union Year-End Dinner" program for 300 union members and workers at the company on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2026.
Speaking at the event, Vice President of the Vinh Long Provincial Labor Union Nguyen Thi Kim Dung said, “The ‘Trade Union Year-End Dinner’ is an expression of sharing, connection, and love, clearly demonstrating the role and responsibility of the Trade Union organization towards its members and workers. It is also an opportunity for the Trade Union organization, businesses, and workers to share together; thereby continuing to promote the spirit of solidarity, creativity, and competition in excellent and safe work, contributing to the development of businesses and the improvement of workers’ lives.”
Sharing in the difficulties faced by union members and workers, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Labor Union organized many practical care activities, especially during the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026. Among these, the "Trade Union Year-End Dinner" was held at three provincial-level locations: Ty Bach Limited Company (Binh Minh Industrial Park); TV.Pharm Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company (Tra Vinh Ward); and Genova Group Limited Company (Giao Long Industrial Park), with the participation of over 2,700 union members and workers.
In addition, the Provincial Labor Union presented nearly 12,000 gifts to union members from poor and near-poor households, those suffering from serious illnesses, and those who had work-related accidents, with a total budget of over 7 billion VND. At the same time, enterprise-level labor unions in the province proactively coordinated with employers to organize "Year-End Labor Union Dinners" in various appropriate forms, ensuring that 100% of workers could celebrate Tet (Lunar New Year) joyfully and warmly.
Mr. Nguyen Van Tri, Deputy Director of Ty Bach Limited Company, said that in 2025, despite facing many challenges, with the spirit of solidarity, responsibility, and the continuous efforts of all employees, the company has gradually overcome difficulties, maintained stable production, ensured jobs, income, and basic benefits and policies for workers.
Expressing her gratitude for the concern shown by the Trade Union and the company, Ms. Lam Thi My Nhung (working at Ty Bach Limited Liability Company) thanked the meaningful and heartwarming "Trade Union Year-End Dinner" program; and hoped that the Trade Union and the company would continue to show concern and support so that employees can work with peace of mind, improve their skills, and together build a stable and developing working environment.
At the event, the Vinh Long Provincial Labor Union presented 50 Tet gifts to workers in particularly difficult circumstances.
