Homes built with the Party's will and the people's aspirations.
In many highland villages, where previously many houses were makeshift and dilapidated, the rural landscape has gradually changed thanks to the vigorous and coordinated implementation of the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses.
In his newly built house, still smelling of fresh plaster, Mr. Hoang Van Kinh, from Nam May village, Bang Thanh commune, shared: "I never thought my family would have such a sturdy house as we do today. Thanks to the 60 million VND support from the government and the help of relatives and neighbors, my family has built a solid house of nearly 70 square meters, and we no longer have to worry when it rains or storms." Mr. Kinh's family is not alone; many other households have also stabilized their lives thanks to this meaningful program.
In Quyet Thang village, Tan Ky commune, Ms. Dam Thi Huong was delighted to move into her new, spacious, and sturdy house. "With a solid house, my family can focus on our work and take care of our children's education," Ms. Dam Thi Huong shared.
A highlight of the program is the collective effort of the entire community. From the armed forces, youth union members, association members to local residents, everyone actively contributed labor and construction materials, helping households complete their homes as soon as possible. It is this spirit of solidarity and mutual support that has created lasting and meaningful homes.
The effectiveness of the program is clearly demonstrated by concrete figures. Before the merger with the former Bac Kan province, by mid-April 2025, the entire province had completed 1,974 houses for poor and near-poor households. After the merger, an additional 1,072 houses were implemented in 37 communes and wards in the North. By August 2025, all 6,953 households in the plan had received support, achieving 100% of the set target.
In particular, with the collective efforts of the entire community, the province has provided additional support to 469 households beyond the planned target, bringing the total number of supported households to 7,422. This result demonstrates the province's determination to achieve the goal of leaving no one behind.
Entering 2026, the program will continue to be implemented with the review and registration of support for 1,526 poor and near-poor households. At the same time, the province will implement a housing construction project with support from the Ministry of Public Security , striving to complete it before National Day on September 2nd.
From a warm home to a sustainable future.
While eliminating temporary and dilapidated housing is an urgent task to ensure social welfare, developing social housing is a long-term strategic solution in the process of urban and industrial development. In the context of rapid industrialization and a growing number of workers, the need for stable and safe housing has become critical.

Recognizing this, Thai Nguyen province has proactively planned and developed residential areas, urban areas, and social housing projects in a comprehensive manner. From 2021 to the present, the province has implemented 87 residential and urban area projects covering over 1,600 hectares; and 13 social housing projects with more than 12,500 apartments. By 2025 alone, over 1,100 apartments were completed, contributing to addressing the urgent housing needs of low-income earners.
Social housing projects not only focus on quantity but also receive comprehensive investment in technical and social infrastructure, ensuring essential conditions such as electricity, water, schools, healthcare , and transportation, contributing to improving the quality of life for residents.
According to the province's plan, during the 2026-2030 period, housing development will continue to be one of the key tasks in the sustainable urban development strategy. New urban areas will be planned in a modern, smart, green, and energy-efficient manner; social housing will be prioritized to meet both housing needs and quality of life.
The guiding principle of "speed and efficiency" was clearly demonstrated in the implementation of each project. Difficulties related to procedures, funding, land availability, etc., were proactively addressed by departments, agencies, and localities, contributing to the accelerated progress of many projects.
In reality, having stable housing motivates people to develop economically and gradually rise out of poverty. For workers, stable housing helps them feel secure in their jobs and commit to the company in the long term.
Each roof built not only provides shelter from the sun and rain but also contributes to fostering trust and creating a foundation for sustainable development. It is also a vivid testament to the effectiveness of the Party and State's social welfare policies, aimed at improving the quality of life for the people and ensuring that no one is left behind.
