During the week, the total flow of the Mekong River into the Mekong Delta changed slowly with a gradual upward trend, remaining about 15% lower than the same period in 2025 and approximately at the multi-year average.
Water levels at inland stations in the Long Xuyen Quadrangle are receding slowly. Tides at estuary stations are receding slowly until June 10th, then rising rapidly. Salinity in rivers and canals is decreasing slowly until June 10th, then increasing slowly. The highest daily salinity is approximately the same as or higher than last week, by about 0.2 - 0.7 parts per thousand. The highest salinity occurs between approximately 6 PM and midnight.

Salinity of 1 part per thousand penetrates approximately 8-11 km inland (Binh An commune).
On the Cai Lon River, salinity of 4 parts per thousand penetrates approximately 15-20 km inland (Dinh Hoa commune), while salinity of 1 part per thousand penetrates approximately 25-30 km inland (Go Quao commune).
Salinity levels of 4 parts per thousand penetrate deep into the inland areas of the Cai Lon River during the evenings, potentially affecting crops.
