The 37km section put into operation starts at Km16+000, connecting to the end point of component project 1 of the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau expressway at the interchange with the Ho Chi Minh City-Long Thanh-Dau Giay expressway, located in Long Thanh commune, Dong Nai province. The end point is at Km53+700, intersecting with National Highway 56 and the Ba Ria bypass, located in Ho Chi Minh City.
The Bien Hoa-Vung Tau expressway is currently operating on a temporary basis with a maximum speed of 80km/h and a minimum speed of 60km/h. Vehicles permitted to travel are cars with fewer than 9 seats to ensure safety while the infrastructure is not yet fully completed.
The section of the highway that has been put into operation has 4 to 6 lanes. During the initial operation phase, this highway will not have toll collection.
The traffic arrangement for vehicles traveling from Bien Hoa to Vung Tau is as follows: vehicles traveling on National Highway 51 or from the Ho Chi Minh City-Long Thanh-Dau Giay Expressway will turn onto Bung Mon Road, travel approximately 1km, then merge onto the right-hand service road to access the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway at Km16+275.
Conversely, vehicles can enter the expressway from the National Highway 56 interchange (Km53+700) or the Provincial Road 992 interchange (Km43+800). Upon reaching Km17+650, vehicles turn right to exit the expressway and join the connecting ramps to head towards Dau Giay or the center of Ho Chi Minh City.
The opening of over 37km of the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau expressway contributes to reducing pressure on National Highway 51, which is frequently overloaded and congested, and shortens travel time between key industrial, port, and tourist centers in the south.
