The joy of having a new uniform

On the morning of August 22, at Khanh Hoa - Jeju Primary School, the White Shirt volunteer group organized the program "White Shirt with Children to School". From early morning, hundreds of students and parents were present in the school yard to receive meaningful gifts in preparation for the new school year. At the program, the group presented 317 new uniforms to all students from grades 1 to 5 of the school and 730 textbooks to the school with a total value of 75 million VND. According to Ms. Le Thi Phuc - Vice Principal in charge of the school, 100% of the school's students are ethnic minorities so their lives are still difficult. Therefore, supporting new uniforms has helped the students have more conditions to go to school, helping families reduce some of the costs. The group also donated books to supplement the school's book supply to prepare the students for the new school year.

For many students, having a new uniform to go to school is an indescribable joy. The joyful eyes and bright smiles seem to express all their happiness. Holding the clothes that still smell of new fabric, Cao Thi Kim Mi - a student of class 3B, shared: "Because my family is poor, this year my mother did not have the means to buy me a new uniform. When I received the gift, I was very happy because I have a new white shirt and new pants to wear to school." Taking her child to school, Ms. Cao Thi Minh (Suoi Lau 2 village) said that her family is near-poor. She is pregnant and about to give birth, staying at home to take care of her children, so all expenses depend on her husband's income from his job as a construction worker. This school year, due to difficult economic conditions, the family has not bought anything for their child to go to school. When her child received a new uniform, she was very happy.

The joy was evident on the students' faces.

The atmosphere in the schoolyard was more exciting when the students interacted with the Robocon team of Tran Nhat Duat Secondary School (Nha Trang Ward) and tested the operation of the robot themselves; and watched interesting magic shows. Cao Thi Thanh Tri - a student of class 4B said that she found the program very fun and interesting. Not only did she receive a new uniform but she also learned many interesting things, so she hopes that there will be more activities like this.

The program "White Shirts with Children to School" is the first activity that the White Shirt volunteer group has carried out after its establishment in August 2025. The group has 5 members, doing business in many different industries. Mr. Pham Phu Nhan - Group leader said that in the past, the members participated in other volunteer activities and saw many difficult lives, especially students in remote areas. Therefore, the group chose to give new uniforms and books to students in difficult circumstances and ethnic minority students so that they can go to school more neatly and fully. The group is trying to maintain this activity 4 times a year. When implementing, the group will give uniforms to all students in the school and integrate other activities so that the students can have more new experiences.

Currently, the program's implementation costs are contributed by the group members. Although they are busy with their own work, the members still try to participate in the activities. Mr. Le Nguyen Thanh Huy - a member of the group shared: "With the spirit of "giving is forever", we hope that our gifts will bring more joy to the children when they go to school. Seeing the children happy when receiving new uniforms, we are very happy".

Mr. HOANG CONG LAP - Vice Chairman of Suoi Dau Commune People's Committee said that recently, the commune has connected with volunteer organizations to support disadvantaged students. In particular, the program "White shirt with children to school" of the White Shirt volunteer group is a meaningful activity, contributing to the locality in taking care of students before the new school year. This is a material and spiritual encouragement for the students to be excited to go to school. Hopefully, in the coming time, the group will have more activities to help people and disadvantaged students in the commune.
