The new software has been tested for months and brings new features such as iPhone Mirroring and the Passwords app.
- iPhone Mirroring not only allows users to mirror their iPhone screen on a Mac, but it can also help control the iPhone using a mouse and keyboard. This feature works wirelessly with any iPhone running iOS 18 or later.
This feature supports trackpad gestures and landscape mode operation, making using an iPhone on a Mac feel more natural.

- The Passwords app allows users to easily access and manage passwords stored in iCloud. If you're a gamer, the new macOS will help reduce audio latency when playing games with AirPods 2 and make it easier for developers to port Windows games to Mac.
In addition, macOS adds several new features such as: arranging application windows side-by-side; new wallpapers and Presenter previews for various online meeting applications; Safari Highlights; new text effects; improved Apple Maps with topographic maps and hiking routes; audio recording with live transcription and mathematical expressions in the Notes app; new security and privacy features; and reminders added to the Calendar app.
Currently, macOS Sequoia is compatible with the following Macs: iMac (2029 and later); Mac Studio (2022 and later); Mac mini (2018 and later); Mac Pro (2019 and later); iMac Pro (2017); MacBook Air (2020 and later); and MacBook Pro (2018 and later).
