"The new era of space computing has arrived. Apple Vision Pro is the most advanced consumer electronics product ever created," said Apple CEO Tim Cook.
Vision Pro is a completely new product category from Apple since the launch of the first Apple Watch in 2015. Vision Pro was first announced at the WWDC 2023 event held last June.
The Apple Vision Pro virtual reality headset will come with two wearable bands, the Solo Knit Band and the Dual Loop Band, a replacement battery, a cable, and a USB-C charger. The Vision Pro uses the M2 processor, combined with a custom-designed R1 chip.
The product is equipped with multiple sensors and integrated cameras, along with a high-resolution screen. Users can control the Vision Pro glasses using only hand gestures, eye movements, and the Siri virtual assistant, without needing the included handheld controller.
The Apple Vision Pro runs VisionOS, an operating system with many similarities to macOS. Apple is currently selling this headset for $3,499.
